Answer:

Theresa's height=60 inches

Paul's height= Steve's height=74 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Theresa has two brothers,Paul and Steve, who are both the same height. Paul says he is 16 inches shorter than 1 1/2 times Theresa's height. Steve says he's 6 inches shorter than 1 1/3 times Theresa's height. If they're both right, how tall is Theresa ?

Let

p=paul's height

s=steve's height

t=theresa's height

Paul's height = Steve's height

p=s

Paul says he is 16 inches shorter than 1 1/2 times Theresa's height

1 1/2 * t -16

=3/2t -16

Steve says he is 6 inches shorter than 1 1/3 times Theresa's height

1 1/3 * t - 6

=4/3t - 6

P=S

3/2t -16 = 4/3t - 6

Collect like terms

3/2t-4/3t= -6+16

9t-8t/6 =10

t/6=10

Cross product

t=60

Theresa's height=60 inches

P=3/2t -16

=3/2(60) -16

=180/2 -16

=90-16

=74 inches

p=s

Paul's height=74 inches

matrenka [14]
All transportation (bus, cab, train) are all similarly likely to be selected, and 1 of them must be selected at morning and evening, so we get: P (bus) = P (cab) = P (train) = 1/3. We also have P(no cab in evening) = P(no cab at morning) = 2/3
Now, P(using cab exactly once) = P(cab at morning and no cab in the evening) + P(no cab at morning and cab in the evening)
= P(cab, no cab) + P(no cab, cab)
= 1/3 * 2/3 + 2/3 * 1/3
= 2/9 + 2/9
= 4/9
Probability that Elizabeth uses a cab only once is 4/9.

Eli wants to plant 45 sunflower plants, 81 corn plants and 63 tomato plants in his garden. If he put the same number of plants i
nevsk [136]

Answer:

GCF

Step-by-step explanation:

Each row will have the same number of plants.  So we want to know what's the biggest number we can divide 45, 81, and 63 by.  That means we need to find the greatest common factor.  In this case, it's 9.  Each row can have at most 9 seeds.
