Answer:

The real exchange rates that would result from the two nominal exchange rates are:

For the first row in the table RER is 6.

For the second row in the table RER is 9.

Note: See the attached excel file for the table.

Explanation:

Note: The table in the question is merged together. It is therefore sorted before answering the question. See the attached excel file for the sorted table.

The answer to the explanation to the answer is now provided as follows:

The real exchange rate (RER) between the the currencies of two counties can be described as the multiplication of the nominal exchange and the ratio of baskets of goods between these two countries.

RER can can therefore be calculated using the following formula:

RER = (e * P*) / P ................................. (1)

Where, from the question;

e = Nominal exchange rate or Yuan per dollar

P* = Cost of Basket in U.S (Dollars)

P = Cost of Basket in China (Yuan)

For the first row in the table:

e = Nominal exchange rate or Yuan per dollar = 7

P* = Cost of Basket in U.S (Dollars) = $90

P = Cost of Basket in China (Yuan) = 105

Substituting the values into equation (1), we have:

RER = (7 * 90) / 105

RER = 630 / 105

RER = 6

For the second row in the table:

e = Nominal exchange rate or Yuan per dollar = 10.50

P* = Cost of Basket in U.S (Dollars) = $90

P = Cost of Basket in China (Yuan) = 105

Substituting the values into equation (1), we have:

RER = (10.50 * 90) / 105

RER = 945 / 105

RER = 9

If labor demand is downward sloping and labor supply is upward sloping, then when labor demand rises faster than labor supply, i
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

Rises

Explanation:

If labor demand is downward sloping and labor supply is upward sloping , then when labor demand rises faster than labor supply , it is expected that real wages rises.

Labor demand is downward sloping means the demand for labor in the market is less as compared to the supply of labor which is high as compared to its supply so when the demand starts rises faster as compared to the supply then the available labor been less in quantity gets a chance to demand for high wages because of monopoly competition .

Colby & Company bonds pay semi-annual interest of $50. They mature in 15 years and have a par value of $1,000. The market ra
ANEK [815]

Answer:

Price of bond = $ 1,172.92

Explanation:

The value of the bond is the present value (PV) of the future cash receipts expected from the bond. The value is equal to present values of interest payment plus the redemption value (RV).

Value of Bond = PV of interest + PV of RV

The value of bond for Colby & Company can be worked out as follows:

Step 1

PV of interest payments

Semi annul interest payment = 50

Semi-annual yield = 8%/2 = 4% per six months

Total period to maturity (in months)

= (2 × 15) = 30 periods

PV of interest =

50 × (1- (1+0.04^(-30)/0.04)= 864.60

Step 2

PV of Redemption Value

= 1,000 × (1.04)^(-30) =308.318

Step 3:

Price of bond

= 864.60 + 308.318 = $1,172.92

Price of bond = $ 1,172.92

The Bata Aerobics Company manufactures two models of steppers used for aerobics exercises. To manufacture each luxury model requ
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

to maximize profit it will produce:

400 units of luxury

none of standard.

Explanation:

luxury:

20 lb of pastic and 9 min of labor and 40 dollars profit

standard:

30lb plastic 6 of labor and $15

We calculate the contribution per constrain resourse:

labor hours

40 / 9 = 4.44

15 / 6 = 2.5

materials

40/20 = 2

15 / 30 = 0.5

As luxury provides better contribution in both categories we will maximize his production.

60 hours x 60 min per hours = 3,600 min

3,600 / 9 min = 400 units of luxury steppers

12,600/20 = 630 units of luxury

Once we use the labor hours we cannot keep producing, so we maximize the profit at 400 units of luxury at the given scenario.

As there is no amounft left for standard we don't produce any

Financial statement data for years ending December 31 for Chiro-Solutions Company follow: 20Y2 20Y1 Sales $2,912,000 $2,958,000
notka56 [123]

Answer:

(i) 9.1

(ii) 10.2

Explanation:

Accounts receivable turnover for 20Y2:

Average accounts receivable:

= (Beginning account receivable + Ending accounts receivable) ÷ 2

= (300,000 + 340,000) ÷ 2

= $320,000

Accounts receivable turnover ratio;

= Net annual credit sales ÷ Average accounts receivable

= $2,912,000 ÷ $320,000

= 9.1

Accounts receivable turnover for 20Y1:

Average accounts receivable:

= (Beginning account receivable + Ending accounts receivable) ÷ 2

= (280,000 + 300,000) ÷ 2

= $290,000

Accounts receivable turnover ratio;

= Net annual credit sales ÷ Average accounts receivable

= $2,958,000 ÷ $290,000

= 10.2
