In the preview of the text I noticed that señorita in the passage is different meanings to different people. In señorita they put the squiggly line on top to show change of pronunciation. The other thing I noticed was each verse is the saying of señorita of different people.

Answer:

Quotes from the Text: What text did you mark? Annotations: What notes did you write about the meaning, voice, or mood?

the lawns looked well behaved

and boring. The grass grew obediently The narrator thinks her new home is dull. Using the word boring and expressing a negative attitude about obedience makes her seem young, maybe a teenager.

each green blade standing upright

like a tiny soldier. The narrator feels that there is too much order, maybe showing that she is restricted too.

At first what I missed most

were los girasoles,

my tall, unruly friends

with their bright yellow petals

and dark brown faces The word missed makes me think that the narrator wants to go back to her old home. The bright colors of her friends and her memories of them are different from the dull situation she is experiencing now.

Complete the following two steps: a. Define the term cliché. b. Use a cliché in a sentence that you create.
zlopas [31]
A cliche is a well-worn phrase used in conversation or in writing that has lost it's meaning. It's been overused. For example, "She was frightened to death to pet the pitbull..." "frightened to death" is the cliche.

Read the excerpt from act 3 of A Doll's House.
docker41 [41]

Answer:

The conflict between Nora and Helmer shows how gender roles were defined, as Helmer has complete control over everything, including what the couple discusses.

Explanation:

Doll`s House written by Henrik Ibsen gives us exact social picture of that age. Nora and Torvald Helmer are married. He has a high position in society and he is the leading man of the house. Nora`s role is to be sweet, pretty wife with whom he can show off to the society. Their roles are predestined with expectations of society, if they want to be accepted, they have to play them. Helmer calls Nora with names like squirrel or little bird, in one moment he even marks her as his pet who spends a lot of money. He decides what she will eat or dress or even talk. We can say that Nora even uses her inferior position to get some power. She acts like a damsel in distress so to challenge him to help her in some meaningless activities in which he will feel like a man in charge, but for the biggest part of the play, she was not aware that using her subordinate position for some little and short term pleasures leaves her in that same position which is just being someone`s mannequin.
