Examples of useful materials that can be found at home or in school are:

  1. Liquid Wash: This is used for washing clothes, plates etc
  2. Bottled Water: This is used for self hydration or simply put drinking when thirsty.
  3. Table Salt: This is used for food seasoning
  4. Batteries: This is used for powering toys, equipment such as drills, etc
  5. Lubricant for equipment and machines: This is used for keeping the rust away from one's equipment.

Examples of Harmful materials

  1. Insecticide: This should be kept far away from kids and should be trashed in the bin as soon as it is spent
  2. Chlorine: This is used for sterilisation and for removing tough stains. However, it can be poisonous when accidentally swallowed. It must be kept very far away from the kids. Empty containers should be disposed of immediately in the waste bin.
  3. Spent Batteries: This also contains harmful chemicals and must be disposed of as soon as they are spent in the waste bin
  4. Pesticides: This is poison. It must be kept far from the reach of children. Empty contains must be disposed into the reuse bin immediately
  5. Refuse: The wastebasket can quickly become a concortion of harmful odours, substances, bacteria and germs. They must be emptied out into the bin outside the house as regularly as possible. The bin outside the house should be disposed of as often as the state refuse collection services are able to come around.
