Answer:Osteoporosis refers to an ailment characterized by reduced bone mass and loss of bony tissue that may lead to weak and fragile bones. In an experiment, Dr. Travis tested the influences of the consumption of calcium on osteoporosis, the condition that results in enhanced chances of bone fractures.

In the given experiment, the amount of calcium is the independent variable, and the risk of bone fractures could get changed with the amount of calcium consumption.

Which term best describes the temperature and weather conditions of an organism's environment
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

Abiotic factors can be described as the non-living components of an ecosystem. Biotic factors can be described as the living components of an ecosystem.

Abiotic factors include all the non- living components such as the weather, climate, temperature, soil, water of an area.

Biotic components include all the living organisms like the plants, animals, microorganisms of an ecosystem.

Hence, abiotic factors best describe the temperature and weather conditions of an organism's environment.

Part a which of these phases encompasses all of the stages of mitosis but no other events?
Tju [1.3M]
The appropriate response is Mitosis. Amid mitosis, the chromosomes, which have just copied, consolidate and append to shaft filaments that draw one duplicate of every chromosome to inverse sides of the cell. The outcome is two hereditarily indistinguishable little girl cores. Whatever is left of the cell may then keep on dividing by cytokinesis to deliver two little girl cells.

Fill in the missing words. naturalselection foundereffect geographicallyisolated species evolution
grandymaker [24]

Hi!

The ancestral finch founded a new population on one of the Hawaiian Islands. Due to the founder effect , allele frequencies of the first small population on one of the islands could have differed from their continental goldfinch-like ancestors. The process of natural selection resulted in adaptation and evolution of the island population into a new species over time. Some of the birds crossed to some of the other islands where they were geographically isolated and evolved into more species occupying different niches.

In terms of population genetics, founder effect is when there is a loss of genetic diversity as a result of the establishment of a new population by a relatively few individuals. Following such an establishment, natural selection is the process  which results in the genes of the fittest individuals of the population being selected over generations. This process ultimately results in evolution, and over time may give rise to new species. Geographical isolation is the physical separation of a population from another owing to geographical changes in the terrain or area. If two populations of the same species are geographically isolated, there is a great chance over time they may evolve into two different species.

Hope this helps!
