Read this excerpt from The First Men in the Moon.
Tresset [83]

Answer:

<em>Well, It dawned upon me up there in the moon as a thing I ought always to have known, that man is not made simply to go about being safe and comfortable and well fed and amused. Against his interest, against his happiness he is constantly being driven to do unreasonable things. Some force not himself impels him and go he must.” </em><em>Good Luck!</em>

Which passage is an example of rising action in Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat"?
Paladinen [302]
The answer is C. because A and D are in the exposition of the poem. and B is the last sentence, serving as a most unsettling resolution.

C. "<span>I took from my waistcoat-pocket a pen-knife, opened it, grasped the poor beast by the throat, and deliberately cut one of its eyes from the socket!" is the best example of rising action in "The Black Cat" of the choices given.</span>

Match each excerpt to its poetic style. (Tiles) enjambment iambic pentameter blank verse
Brrunno [24]
I don't think that your options match your tiles - you must have copied them wrong. I can only match iambic pentameter with D. each foot consists of one unstressed followed by a stressed syllable.
However, enjambment has nothing to do with the stress in syllables, but rather with the fact that some poets like to continue a sentence in a poem into the next line, without the use of commas or other pauses. Blank verse is a type of a verse that doesn't have a rhyme, and is made up of iambic pentameters.

what is one reason that thomas paine brings up the opposing argument that the colonial colonies have done well under British con
Mnenie [13.5K]
<span>Paine’s argument is that even though America enjoyed prosperity under British rule, it does not mean America will forever be dependent under their rule.  He added that Britain protects the colonies for its own economic gain.  They need not go war with other countries that are at war with Britain.  He also said that it should be the British who should handle reconciliations with France not the colonies.  He further states that if they reconcile with the British, then the situation will repeat itself all over again.</span>
