Using the quoted excerpt from the speech provided below and keeping in mind that this topic is a human rights issue: Why do you

think these stories continue to happen despite the gruesome and horrifying risks of coming to the U.S.?
“Anna's story is not the only story I could tell you. There's Mateo, an 18-month-old boy, who was ripped from his father's arms and sent to a government shelter thousands of miles away, where they failed to properly bathe him for months. There's Amadou, an unaccompanied African child, who was held with adults for 28 days in CBP's horrific facilities. Most disturbingly, there's Maria, a pregnant refugee who begged for medical attention for eight hours before she miscarried in CBP custody. CBP officials held her for three more weeks before they sent her back to Mexico, where she is being forced to wait months for an asylum hearing in the United States.” (3-5 sentences)

People cross the border because they are tying to look for better job opportunities in the US. They also might want to escape bad living conditions in their previous country, which for them, may be worth the risk. They may feel like they have no other choice if they want a better life.

What role does theocracy play in the plot thus far? Remember, a theocracy is a government ruled by God, meaning all reverends ar
Sloan [31]

This question is about "The crucible".

Answer and Explanation:

Theocracy is the basis for all administrative and governmental decisions in the whole plot of "The Crucible". In this case, it is believed that the existence of "witches" is causing problems in the city. It is the government's responsibility to end the city's problems, in this case, the theocratic government, like the one in history, seeks to resolve them with teligious justifications.

Although all the characters show theocracy's effects on their personalities, the ones who show this most clearly are those who have government and religious influence in the city, such as Reverend Parris, Herrick, Judge Hathorne and Judge Danforth.
