The correct answer is C.

Even though the man was annoyed by the blows at the begining, eventually he grew accustomed to them. After five years of being hit continuously, even during his sleep, the man is now scared that the man hitting him might disappear one day, taking the familiar blows with him.

The title of Michelle’s speech is: Our Privacy on the Internet Should Be More Protected. Which of the following would be the bes
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

d. Each person has the fundamental right to have absolute control over his or her personal information

Explanation:

When we take the title of the speech into consideration - "Our Privacy on the Internet Should Be More Protected" - the best option of a thesis statement seems to be letter d. A thesis statement consists of one or two sentences with the purpose of informing the reader about the author's opinion and the subject of what will be read, as well as guide the author so that they won't lose focus.

Letter a would be a good option if it didn't mention "genetic information". That topic takes a very specific detour away from the subject of privacy. They can be related, but that is not what we expect after reading the title.

Letter b is not a statement at all. The question asked has the intention of making the reader curious, but does not state the author's opinion.

Letter c is not a thesis statement due to its length. It already develops the argument, which should be done in the speech or essay's body.

That leaves us with letter d. It's a one-sentence statement in which we find the author's opinion and which gives us an idea of what will be developed in the speech or essay.

How do Circe’s words in paragraph 5 help to advance the plot?
kifflom [539]

When Odysseus decides to leave Circe in Book 10, she helps him by giving him encouragement, knowledge about the future and concrete advice. When Odysseus hears that he must go to the House of Death, he feels despondent, but with the support of Circe, Odysseus feels he is able to lead his men to the Kingdom of the Dead with confidence. Circe tells Odysseus to trust the North Wind, and she also explains to him exactly what to expect when he gets to Persephone's Grove. This knowledge about the future is reassuring to Odysseus, as something frightening becomes familiar with Circe's descriptions. Finally, Circe instructs Odysseus clearly, telling him exactly what to do at different steps of his journey. As well, Circe tells Odysseus that Tiresias will appear to him and tell him how to get home, which may be the words of encouragement Odysseus needs the most.
