Goldfish, Would You Wish?” conveys an important message about being happy through Sergei's situation and that is "Being Selfless" and put other people' s joy before yours. Sergei had three wishes and all of them for others even when it costed him to let go of his fish, he chose others. That is the theme of Happiness.

Allusion refers to a literary device that is used to make indirect reference without actually mentioning it explicitly.
The reference that made through Allusion usually could only be understood by the readers if we read the previous part of the writing in order to get the context.

I think the answer is 'to engage the audience in the tragic story'. I would only reveal the end to capture the attention of the audince and make them wonder why/how the story ends the way it does.
