Communication skills are taught because it is important to be able to talk to and communicate with patients and other doctors in a clear and understandable way. Mix ups can sometimes mean life or death for a patient. Note taking is taught for several reasons. As a nurse, you have to remember things like allergies, symptoms, and more which really adds up overtime. If you know how to take clear and good notes, you can not only show the patient you care but remember all the important info without the worry for forgetting something huge.
