There are not anacondas emerging, but there are Burmese pythons and African rock pythons escaping and being presented. Any time a non-native species is presented it has the potential to produce disruption, such as by interrupting the normal food chain. Both of these pythons are very abundant species, far larger than any native snake in Florida, and are apex predators. This can be a major disturbance to the food chain as Florida previously has the American alligator as an apex predator. This puts the strain on the prey animal populations.

These snakes are also dangerous to us. There have been descriptions of them eating pets, and an adult Burmese or African rock python is powerful just to kill an adult human. These snakes may even view children or adults of small stature as prey. Competition with alligators and developing suburban areas means that more of those snakes will work their way into populated areas except their populations are kept in check.

Archy [21]

Tan builds a central idea of her story in the excerpt as:

Tan discusses her mother’s use of English to build the idea that a form of language can be purposeful and meaningful even if it is nonstandard.

Amy Tan's essay “Mother Tongue” is about the difficulties that a child has to face if it grows in a family in which its parents speak 'limited English.' Amy's mother was among such parent who was unable to speak fluent and proper English. It is through the language that the person is judged by others. Amy was brought up by her mother and because of this, her writing style was much influenced by the language spoken at her home. Her mother taught her that a person's perception of the world is influenced by the language spoken at home.

Butoxors [25]
If I were to create a poster that explains positive culture group interactions, I would split it into four different sections. In the first section, I would describe what a culture group is (a group with shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices). In this section, I would include images that reflect culture groups from different countries. In the second section, I would discuss the idea of knowledge of culture. In this section, I would explain that knowledge of my culture and the other person's culture is key to having a positive culture group interaction. I would also use images of a library, which is a place where knowledge is kept. In the third section, I would discuss needs and feelings of people involved in a culture group interaction. In this section, I would explain that it is important to remember the needs and feelings of each person involved in a culture group interaction. I would also include an image of two people talking. In the fourth section, I would have no words but rather one image of two people with their arms around each other. This would reflect that positive culture group interactions create friendships.
