Start off with initially calculating those numbers to find out how far above or below the airplane is from the altitude of 3000 feet.

To clear things up, when an aircraft dives, the altitude of how high it is traveling decreases. When an aircraft climbs, the altitude of the aircraft increases. When it mentions that the aircraft starts to dive, you need to subtract. When it climbs, you need to add.

As the pilot initially dives the plane 988 feet and rapidly climbs 748 feet, you'd need to form an equation which contributes those numbers. It can be illustrated as
3000 - 988 + 748, which is equal to 2760.
The pilot then dives again 885 feet before making another climb of 1099 feet. Adding on to the previous answer we received, this can be represented as 2760 - 885 + 1099, which equals to 2974.

You can conclude that the airplane is now travelling at an altitude of 2974 feet. To find out how far above or below the airplane is from an altitude of 3000 feet, simply subtract those numbers.

3000 - 2974 = 26

The aircraft is travelling 26 feet below an altitude of 3000 feet.

Juliette [100K]
This is the concept of algebra, the revenue of the smart phone sells is given by:
revenue=cost+profit
cost of producing an phone is:
C(x)=2x+35

Profit is given by the function:
P(x)=-x^2+120x-435
Thus the revenue will be:
R(x)=-x^2+120x-435+2x+35
R(x)=-x^2+122x-400
The answer is A

A mirror is made of two congruent parallelograms as shown in the diagram. The parallelograms have a combined area of 9 1/3 squar
Vika [28.1K]
Given:
2 parallelograms with an area of 9 1/3 yd²
height of each parallelogram is 1 1/3 yd

Area of parallelogram = base * height

We need to divide the combined area into two to get each parallelogram's base.

9 1/3 = ((9*3)+1)/3 = 28/3

28/3 ÷ 2 = 28/3 * 1/2 = 28/6 yd² or 4 4/6 yd² ⇒ 4 2/3 yd²

Area of each parallelogram is 4 2/3 yd²

4 2/3 yd² = base * 1 1/3 yd

14/3 yd² ÷ 4/3 yd = base

14/3 yd² x 3/4 yd = base
14*3 / 3*4 = base
42 / 12 = base
3 6/12 yd = base
or 3 1/2 yd = base

a) the base of each parallelogram is 3 1/2 yards
b) we can assume that the two parallelograms form a rectangle.
area of a rectangle is length times width.

length is 3 1/2 yds * 2 = 7 yds
width is 3 1/2 yds

Area of rectangle = 7 yds * 3 1/2 yds
Area = 7 yd * 7/2 yd
Area = 7*7 / 2 yd²
Area = 49 / 2 yd²
Area = 24 1/2 yd²

As a promotion, the first 50 customers who entered a certain store at a mall were asked to choose from one of two discounts. The
qaws [65]

Answer:

A) Yes, because P (F∩S) = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

50 customers of a store were asked to choose between two discounts:

Discount 1: 20% off all purchases for the day.

Discount 2: 10% off all purchases for the week.

28 choose discount 1

22 choose discount 2

F: the selected person choose discount 1.

S: the selected person choose discount 2.

Two events are mutually exclusive when the occurrence of one of them prevents the other from occurring in one repetition of the trial and the intersection between these two events is void with zero probability of happening.

In this case, since the customers were asked to choose one out of the two events, if the customer chooses the first one, then he couldn't have chosen the second one and vice-versa. Then the intersection between these two events has zero probability, symbolically:

P(F∩S)=0

I hope it helps!

Alex's friend Pablo comes up with an exact equation to find out how many bags he needs. Use his equation
Bezzdna [24]

Answer:

8.5 bags are needed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Number of bags needed B=x(2x+7)+3(2x+7)+(x+4)

            (2x + 7) = 4

To Find : how many bags he needs?

Solution :

(2x + 7) = 4

2x=-3

x=-\frac{3}{2}

Now we are given that Number of bags needed B=x(2x+7)+3(2x+7)+(x+4)

Substitute the value of x

B=(\frac{-3}{2})(2(\frac{-3}{2})+7)+3(2(\frac{-3}{2})+7)+((\frac{-3}{2})+4)

B=8.5

Hence 8.5 bags are needed.

notka56 [123]

Answer:

Green ball. $11

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's see.

15 balls. 7 are red. 6 are green. rest are yellow. That means there are 2 yellow balls.

Since there are more greens than yellows, you have a better chance of getting a green. That means you have a higher chance of getting $11
