Discuss the consequences for challenging Church doctrine in the years leading up to the Enlightenment era. How did the struggle of Galileo both embody this conflict and foreshadow the rise of the Age of Reason? Your answer should be at least 150 words.

During this era,  if you are found going against the Church Doctrines, you will be considered a heretic. You will be forced to submit under the Holy Order as well as you will be secluded and imprisoned for believing something that is complete opposite of what they are thinking

I think this issue had not been corrected properly in the past. In the past, Copernicus had founded that geocentric theory which the Church had followed and believe. The Church believed that the earth was the center of the universe and that it should remain like that.

The Church was not very happy of Galileo's findings. Galileo has proved them wrong by presenting various proof of Copernicus's theory was not correct. Because of this Galileo was punished. However, he was able to gain followers because of his findings. Thus, the age of reason flourished.
