Answer: B. Star Wars

The Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) was a project announced by President Reagan on March 23, 1983. It was jokingly dubbed "Star Wars" by the press. This projects was intended to defend the United States from attacks from Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles. The project required advanced technology to be developed in order to be able to intercept missiles. The project did begin, but it was deemed too complex and expensive, and was cancelled by later administrations.
