The correct option is B

The partition of India was the partition of the British Indian Empire which resulted in the creation of the sovereign States of the Dominion of Pakistan (which later divided into Pakistan and Bangladesh) and the Union of India (later Republic of the India) on August 15, 1947. In this context when one speaks of "partition" it refers not only to the division of Bengal province of British India in East Pakistan and West Bengal (India), also to the partition of the province from Punjab in West Punjab (West Pakistan) and East Punjab (now Punjab), as well as to the respective divisions of other assets, including the British Army of India, the Indian Civil Service and other administrative services, such as the railways , and the central treasure.
