In this excerpt from act V of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Romeo encounters Paris when he enters Juliet’s grave. Paris challe

nges him to a duel, but Romeo pleads to be left alone before he is forced to fight. What does this excerpt reveal about Romeo’s character?
ROMEO: I must indeed; and therefore came I hither.
Good gentle youth, tempt not a desperate man;
Fly hence, and leave me: think upon these gone;
Let them affright thee. I beseech thee, youth,
Put not another sin upon my head,
By urging me to fury: O, be gone!
By heaven, I love thee better than myself;
For I come hither arm'd against myself:
Stay not, be gone; live, and hereafter say,
A madman's mercy bade thee run away.

A. Romeo has become desperate and reckless because of Juliet's death.
B. Romeo has descended into madness because he thinks Juliet has died.
C. Romeo doesn't want to cause any more suffering after he has already lost Juliet.
D. Romeo has become suicidal because of his pain over the thought of a life without Juliet.
E. Juliet's death has made Romeo lose all feeling and not care about fighting anyone.

What does the simile underline on page 5 reveal about the Old Man?
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

He is humiliated by his defeat

Explanation:

Using the system of elimination you can cross out a few answers. He is not eager to confront his son because of the way it was written. He is not carrying his belongings because if you read a little bit further on his belongings had been taking by his son (the badgers). This would leave you with either him being exhausted by his struggle or being humiliated by his defeat. They both made sense to me but I think he was humiliated because he was confident about continuing to hunt them even though he was warned.

Seven-year-old Sangram is not allowed to touch the TV remote. Nevertheless, he uses the remote to change the volume from level 1
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

It was only 2 units up.

Explanation:

A small increase in the volume would no alert the father of Sangram who is one room away, because that change would only be noticeable for Sangram who is in the same room, but when he doubled the volume from 15 to 30, it was more obvious for his father, one room away, that Sangram was using the remote control and that he was changing the volume in the TV.
