<u>The correct answer is :  emotional appeal.   These are some of the sections of Mandela's speech on the day he received the Nobel Peace Prize, where the emotional appeal of his words is evident: "May the efforts of all of us prove that the leader for civil rights Martin Luther King, Jr. was not a mere dreamer when he spoke of the beauty of true brotherhood and peace, more precious than diamonds, silver or gold ... May a new era dawn! " </u>

<u>"We are here today as mere representatives of the millions of people of our people who had the courage to rebel against a social system whose very essence is war, violence, racism, oppression, repression and emprobrecimiento."</u>

Galina-37 [17]

Contrastive distribution occurs when  two sounds placed in the same context produce different meanings.  This is the case in the sounds [k] and [x] . For example: <em>[kano] 'do' versus [xano] 'lose'. </em>

The same happens with the sounds [ç] and [c]. They are in constrastive distribution as in shown in the following example: <em>[çino] 'pour' versus [cino] 'move </em>

In complementary distribution, where one sound occurs the other cannot.  This is the case in  the sounds [k] and [c] The first sound  (palatal stop) appears before front vowels whereas the second sound (velar stop) appears elsewhere.

The sounds [ç] and [x] are also in complementary distribution. As in the previous example, the palatal appears before front vowels and the velar appears elsewhere

How is the word choice regarding the parents’ surname significant in sleeping
Svetach [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

<u>Winter symbolizes cold, still, fruitless time of no change, when things aren't born, renewed, or changed.</u>

By naming the two characters, Mr. and Mrs. Winter by this season, the writer symbolizes the coldness and childlessness in their life. It seems that they lost the child, but they approached the grief from the calculated, rational point -<u> not acknowledging the loss and emotions, and continuing to act rationally on the outside as if nothing is happening.</u>

<u>This can be connected to the coldness and stillness of the winter, the snow that covers all the flora and vegetation, and seems to last forever in the icy embrace. </u>

Appreciation of the poem worm std-8
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

In the poem 'The Worm', the poet Thomas Gisborne brings out the emotions he has for the little worms. He says we should take care not to step on them and take away their lives. They may be tiny but are God's creations and no one has a right to take away another's life.

3. PART A: What does the word "diminish" most likely<br> mean as used in line 6?
nirvana33 [79]

3.PART A: What does the word “diminish” most likely mean as used in line 6?

A.to end

B.to belittle

C.to lessen

D.to sadden

A. To end

Explanation:

Adapted from "No Man Is An Island" by John Donne

Modern Version

No man is an island entire of itself; every man

is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;

if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe

is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as

well as any manner of thy friends or of thine

own were; any man's death diminishes me,

because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom

the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

The word “diminish” most likely means 'To end' as used in line 6.

John Donne had written this poem based on end of life because he was approaching death due to a fatal illness.
