3 red: 1 green,

So for 56 balls, the ratio is split to:

3 \times 56/4:56/4

= 42:14

So there are 14 balls put in to green bags

Raul has 56 bouncy balls

he puts the balls into red gift bags and green gift bags

so lets say he puts x number of balls into green gift bags

then we are told that he puts three times as many balls into red gift bags as he puts into green gift bags

so the number of balls he puts into red gift bags is - 3 * x = 3x

the total number of balls = 56

so we can write the following equation

x + 3x = 56

4x = 56

x = 56/4

x = 14

therefore the amount of balls he puts into green bags is - 14 balls

Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

μ =  Sin θ * d₁ / (d₂ - Cos θ*d₁)

d₂ = (d₁*Sin θ) / μ

Step-by-step explanation:

a) We apply The work-energy theorem

W = ΔE

W = - Ff*d

Ff = μ*N = μ*m*g

Distance 1:

- Ff*d₁ = Ef - Ei

⇒  - (μ*m*g*Cos θ)*d₁ = (Kf+Uf) - (Ki+Ui) = (Kf+0) - (0+Ui) = Kf - Ui

Kf = 0.5*m*vf² = 0.5*m*v²

Ui = m*g*h = m*g*d₁*Sin θ

then

- (μ*m*g*Cos θ)*d₁ = 0.5*m*v² - m*g*d₁*Sin θ

⇒   - μ*g*Cos θ*d₁ = 0.5*v² - g*d₁*Sin θ   (I)

Distance 2:

- Ff*d₂ = Ef - Ei

⇒  - (μ*m*g)*d₂ = (0+0) - (Ki+0) = - Ki

Ki = 0.5*m*vi² = 0.5*m*v²

then

- (μ*m*g)*d₂ = - 0.5*m*v²

⇒   μ*g*d₂ = 0.5*v²     (II)

If we apply (I) + (II)

- μ*g*Cos θ*d₁ = 0.5*v² - g*d₁*Sin θ

μ*g*d₂ = 0.5*v²

⇒ μ*g (d₂ - Cos θ*d₁) = v² - g*d₁*Sin θ     (III)

Applying the equation (for the distance 1) we get v:

vf² = vi² + 2*a*d = 0² + 2*(g*Sin θ)*d₁   ⇒   vf² = 2*g*Sin θ*d₁ = v²

then (from the equation III) we get

μ*g (d₂ - Cos θ*d₁) = 2*g*Sin θ*d₁ - g*d₁*Sin θ

⇒  μ (d₂ - Cos θ*d₁) = Sin θ * d₁

⇒   μ =  Sin θ * d₁ / (d₂ - Cos θ*d₁)

b)

If μ is a known value

d₂ = ?

We apply The work-energy theorem again

W = ΔK   ⇒   - Ff*d₂ = Kf - Ki

Ff = μ*m*g

Kf = 0

Ki = 0.5*m*v² = 0.5*m*2*g*Sin θ*d₁ = m*g*Sin θ*d₁

Finally

- μ*m*g*d₂ = 0 - m*g*Sin θ*d₁   ⇒   d₂ = Sin θ*d₁ / μ

The steps below show the work of a student used to calculate the number of yards in 804.5 meters.
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

804.5 meters. to yards

Step 1:

(1 mile = 1,609 meters)

(1 mile = 1,760 yards)

1,609 meters is being multiplied by conversion factor 1 mile over 804.5 meters equals 2 miles

1,609 meter     x         1 mile          =   2 miles

                               804.5 meters

Step 2:

(1 mile = 1,609 meters)

(1 mile = 1,760 yards)

2 miles is being multiplied by conversion factor 1760 yards over 1 mile equals 3,520 yards

2 miles   x   1,760 yards    =   3,520 yards

                        1 mile

no need of step 3. the conversion below should be on step 2.

to convert miles into yards.

(1 mile = 1,609 meters)

(1 mile = 1,760 yards)
