A compound, expecially with numerous functional groups, can have a lot of pKa and pKb charges. These are the individual acidic (pKa) and basic (pKb) charges of each functional group in the compound. These charges affect one another due to electrostatic attractions. When you want to find the net charge or the overall charge of the compound, you have to test it by using a pH meter. If the pH you get is 7, then it is neutral. The range of pH is between 1 to 14. pH's 1 to 6 are acidic, and pH's 8 to 14 are basic. The neutral pH is at pH 7 like pure water. That means that the overall charge is 0.

frez [133]

Answer:

A sperm cell

Explanation:

A diploid cell has 46 chromosomes which is normally signified by somatic cells. Germ cells or gametes are haploid cells therefore they contain only 23 chromosomes. Male gamete contains 22 autosomes and one sex chromosome. That sex chromosome can be X or Y.

Female gamete does not have Y chromosome as a sex chromosome, it has only X chromosome as a sex chromosome. So Y chromosome in a human cell which have 22 autosomes determines that it is a male gametic cell or a sperm cell. Sperm cells that have a Y chromosome if fuses with female gamete produce male offspring(XY).

So the correct answer is- a sperm cell.

Describe at least two biological systems. Explain how the systems are independent from an interconnected with each other.
S_A_V [24]

The human respiratory system is a series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organs of the respiratory system are the lungs, which carry out this exchange of gases as we breathe. The circulatory system is made up of blood vessels that carry blood away from and towards the heart. Arteries carry blood away from the heart and veins carry blood back to the heart. The circulatory system carries oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to cells, and removes waste products, like carbon dioxide.

The respiratory system works directly with the circulatory system to provide oxygen to the body. Oxygen taken in from the respiratory system moves into blood vessels that then circulate oxygen-rich blood to tissues and cells.

Define groundwater, and list some anthropogenic (human) sources of groundwater pollution. Why do many scientists consider ground
joja [24]

Explanation:

Groundwater is the freshwater present below the earth's surface. It originates from the rain, ice, melting snow.

Some anthropogenic sources of groundwater pollution are

  • Aluminum.
  • Sulfur.
  • Arsenic.
  • Nitrates.
  • Fluoride.

Groundwater pollution has more problems than surface water pollution because groundwater is mostly hidden and it is very difficult to view, manage and monitor.

Groundwater holds its contamination and pollutants that cause pollution whereas surface water rinses their contamination and pollutants.
