The weight of a full steel bead tire is approximately 800 grams, while a lighter wheel weighs only 700 grams. What is the weight

of each tire in pounds? There are 453.592 grams in one pound. Round answers to 2 decimal places.

The tires have to be divided. so 800/453.592, and 700/453.592. So...

800= 1.76
700=1.54

Find a linear equation to model this real-world application:
SSSSS [86.1K]

The linear equation to model the company's monthly expenses is y = 2.5x + 3650

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Let "x" be the units produced in a month

It costs ABC electronics company $2.50 per unit to produce a part used in a popular brand of desktop computers.

Cost per unit = $ 2.50

The company has monthly operating expenses of $350 for utilities and $3300 for salaries

We have to write the linear equation

The linear equation to model the company's monthly expenses in the form of:

y = mx + b

Cost per unit = $ 2.50

Monthly Expenses = $ 350 for utilities and $ 3300 for salaries

Let "y" be the total monthly expenses per month

Then,

Total expenses = Cost per unit(number of units) + Monthly Expenses

y = 2.50(x) + 350 + 3300\\\\y = 2.5x + 3650

Thus the linear equation to model the company's monthly expenses is y = 2.5x + 3650

Using Normal Distribution to Analyze Data Martin suspects that people carry less cash with them than they used to because of cre
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Sample size = 95

X=cash carried by the persons

x bar = 8.00

s = sample std dev = 2.50

Std error = \frac{s}{\sqrt{n} } =\frac{2.5}{\sqrt{95} } \\=0.2565

Hence Z score would be

\frac{x-8}{0.2565}

a) P(X

-0.00

b) P(9

c) 95% conf interval margin of error = ±1.96*0.2565

=±0.54782

Confi interval = (8-0.5027, 8+0.5027)

= (7.4923, 8.5027)

C)If conf level increases, then width of interval would increase since critical value would increase.

If sample size increases std error would decrease and hence margin of error.

So interval would decrease.

At a bake shop, the cost of flour is $2.50 per pound and increases at a rate of $0.07 per month. The cost of cocoa is $6.00 per
Vesna [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We will find two equations for this system, one representing flour and the other representing cocoa.  For the flour, we start with $2.50, and the cost goes up .07 per month, x. The equation for that is

y = .07x + 2.50

For the cocoa, the equation is written in the exact same way, but the cost goes down.  Down is a negative thing while up is a positive thing.  The cost starts at $6.00 and goes down .03 per month, x. The equation for that is

y = -.03x + 6.00

Comparing the first equation to the second, the .07 is positive because the cost goes UP that amount per month and the .03 is negative because the cost goes DOWN that amount per month.  Get it?

If y is cost and we are tryong to find out where the cost is the same, we are looking for when y is the same.  If the first y is equal to .07x + 2.50 and the second y is equal to -.03x + 6.00, and y is equal to y, then

.07x + 2.50 = -.03x + 6.00 (this is setting the first y equal to the second y).  This is the system that describes how to find the number of months x when the cost y is the same. We'll solve it just for practice.

Combining like terms we get

.10x = 3.5 so

x = 35

Now back sub in what x equals to solve for y.  If x = 35, then in the first equation,

.07(35) + 2.50 = y and

y = 4.95 (you could have used the second equation and subbed in 35 for x and you will get the exact same y value.  Promise!)

What this answer tells us is that 35 months after the start of this pricing, the cost of flour will be the same as the cost of cocoa.  But immediately after 35 months, the costs will not be the same anymore.  It is only AT 35 months.  At 36 months, the costs will be different.

Brett plays an acoustic guitar at an event for $500. At the end of the event, the sponsor tips him 20%. How much does Brett make
Blababa [14]
Brett makes $510

First you’ll have to multiply $500 by 0.020 (you have to convert 20%) and you’ll get 10. You then add the 10 to 500 to get $510
