Answer: form.

Poetic form can be understood as the physical structure of the poem. Characteristics such as the length of the lines, its theme and the structure of the rhymes are taken into account when determining a poem's form. The word "form" is normally only used for very familiar patterns.

Some examples of common forms are couplets, haikus, ballads, odes, epics, epigrams and sonnets.

In this passage from Gilgamesh, one of the clear epic poetry features is the emphasis on its supernatural characters. It mentions a god the hero must obey. It then describes the fantastical characteristics of the villain, Humbaba. Through the god's words, a reader can also tell that Gilgamesh is extraordinary. The main impact of supernatural characters captures the interest of readers.
