6/7 of the total fish have red stripes
18 of the total fish have red stripes

so 6/7 of the total fish = 18
lets x represent the total number of fish...

6/7x = 18
x = 18 / (6/7)
x = 18 * 7/6
x = 126/6
x = 21 <=== so there are 21 total fish

A high school coach needs to buy new athletic shorts for the 15 members of the basketball team. The coach must spend less than $
AfilCa [17]
If the budget is $200 and he have 15 members then we have divide the two. 200 / 15 = $13.33 per shorts. 15x =< $200. x represents 13.33. So the solution represents the coach may spend up to $13.33 per pair of shorts. If it was even 1 cent more than $13.33 than he wouldn't have enough.So he can spend up to $13.33 or less per pair of shorts.

The quotient of the sum of 2t and 2, twice the cube of s
natali 33 [55]

Answer: \frac{2t+2}{2s^3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since you did not indicate what you need to do, I assume that you have to write an expression using the sentence given in the problem.

In order to solve this exercise, it is importat to remember the following information:

1. The quotient is the result of a division.

2. The sum is the result of an addition.

3. The word "twice" indicates a multiplicatio by 2.

4. The word "cube" indicates an exponent 3.

Then, keeping on mind the explained above and the data given in the exercise, you know that:

-The sum of 2t and 2 can be expressed as:

2t+2

- Twice the cube of s can be expressed in the following form:

2s^3

Therefore, you can dermine that "the quotient of the sum of  2t and 2 and twice the cube of s" is represented with the following expression:

\frac{2t+2}{2s^3}

If EF bisects CD, CG = 5x-1, GD = 7x-13, EF=6x-4, and GF = 13, find EG (MUST SHOW WORK)
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

EG = 19

Explanation:

Given that a line segment CD. EF bisects the line CD at point G.

Length of CG = 5x-1

Length of GD = 7x - 13

We know that CG = GD

5x-1 = 7x-13

Solve for x,

2x = 12

x = 6

Now given that,

EF = 6x-4

GF = 13

EF = EG + GF

6x - 4 = EG + 13

EG = 6x - 4 - 13

EG = 6x - 17

put the value of x = 6, in order to find the EG

EG = 6*6 - 17

EG = 19

That's the final answer.

I hope it will help you.
