You have to multiply each side by 2.5 then multiply the two new sides to get the answer. So 8 1/2, which is 8.5 is going to become 21.25 and 11*2.5 is going to become 27.50. So the new dimensions are 21.25 and 27.50, you multiply both of them which would give you an area of 584.375. YOU'RE WELCOME :)

Answer:

Area of the new poster = 584.375 inch²

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of old poster = 8 1/2 inches = 8.5 inches

Breadth of old poster = 11 inches

Scale factor = 2 1/2 = 2.5

Length of new poster =  8.5 x 2.5 = 21.25 inch

Breadth of new poster =  11 x 2.5 = 27.5 inch

Area of new poster = 21.25 x 27.5 = 584.375 inch²

Area of the new poster = 584.375 inch²

In the figure, mAB = 45° and mCD = 23°. The diagram is not drawn to scale.
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

Option A. x=34\°

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The measure of the inner angle is the semi-sum of the arcs comprising it and its opposite.

x=\frac{1}{2}(arc\ CD+arc\ AB)

substitute the values

x=\frac{1}{2}(23\°+45\°)

x=34\°

If sinx = 0.3, and x is in Quadrant III, then what is the value of cosx?
enot [183]

Probably the question should say \sin x=-0.3, as \sin x is negative for \pi.

In that case, recall that

\cos^2x+\sin^2x=1\implies\cos x=\pm\sqrt{1-\sin^2x}

Because x lies in the third quadrant, we expect \cos x to also be negative, so we take the negative root above. Then

\cos x=-\sqrt{1-(-0.3)^2}\approx-0.954

Shaun read 60 pages in 3/4 h. What is the unit rate that represents the number of pages Shaun can read in 1 h?
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

60=3/4

x=4/4

4/4÷1/4

4/4*4/1

4/1*1/1

4/1

4

3/4=12 because if 1/4 is 4 then 3/4 is 12

60=12

60÷12=5

5*4/20

60+20=80

Shaun will read 80 pages in 1 hour

I can only read 25 because i hate reading

Rebecca went swimming yesterday. After a while she had covered one fifth of her intended distance. After swimming six more lengt
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

Option E.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the intended length of Rebecca's swimming is = x units

and we assume the length of the pool = l units

Now it is given in the question that " She covers one fifth of her intended distance "

That means distance covered = \frac{x}{5}

" After swimming six more lengths of the pool she had covered one quarter of her intended distance"

So \frac{x}{5}+6(l)=\frac{x}{4}

6l=\frac{x}{4}-\frac{x}{5}

6l=\frac{x}{20}

x = 20×(6l)

x = 120l

Therefore, Rebecca has to complete 120 lengths of the pool.

Option E is the answer.
