gavmur [86]

Answer:

Net Sales for the month ended is equal to $9,702.

Explanation:

Sale = 100 x $100 = $10,000

Discount = $10,000 x 1% = $100

Sales Return = $198

Net Sales = Sales Price - Sales Discount - Sales Return

Net Sales = $10,000 - $100 - $198

Net Sales = $9,702

Net Sales for the month ended is equal to $9,702.

$20 is an expense and it is not an contra revenue account. So, it is not considered in net sales calculation.

Country A has an absolute advantage over Country B in the production of both soybeans and corn. Explain a scenario in which both
Genrish500 [490]
This is a key idea with international trade.  This involves what is known as comparative advantage.
let's say country A can produce a ton of soybeans in 4 hours and a ton of corn in 2 hours.  While country B can produce a ton of soybeans in 15 hours and a ton of corn in 5 hours.
Looking at this set up you can see that country A can produce both corn and soybeans faster, so they have an absolute advantage in both!
However what trade is based on is opportunity cost.  So if we think about how much corn country A has to give up to produce soybeans, they have to divert a total of 4 hours from corn to soy beans to produce one ton of soy beans.  That 4 hours could be used to produce 2 tons of corn (since 2 hours for 1 ton and we're taking away 4 hours!).  So opportunity cost of soybeans in country A is 2 corn.
In country B they would need a total of 15 hours to produce one extra ton of soybeans, but those 15 hours could instead be used to produce 3 tons of corn (5 hours per ton and we're stealing 15 total hours).  That means country B's opportunity cost is 3 corn.
Since A has a lower opportunity cost in produce soybeans they will specialize and B will specialize in corn.

Brrunno [24]

Answer:

a) Total book value = $85,000,000

b)Market value of debt = $27,650,000

c)After tax cost of debt = 2.74%

Explanation:

As per the data given in the question,

a) Debt = $50,000,000

Zero coupon bond = $35,000,000

Total book value = $50,000,000+$35,000,000

= $85,000,000

b) Market value of debt = $50,000,000×104%

=$52,000,000

Market value of zero coupon bond = $35,000,000×79%

=$27,650,000

Total market value = $52,000,000+$27,650,000

= $79,650,000

c) Market value weights for debt = 0.65

Market value weights for Zero coupon bond = 0.35

After tax cost for Debt ( By using financial calculator )

( 0.01857 ×2 × (1-24%)) = 2.82%

After tax cost for Zero coupon bond ( By using financial calculator )

( 0.01698 ×2 × (1-24%)) = 2.58%

Weighted cost for debt ( Weight × Cost )= 1.84%

Weighted cost for zero coupon bond ( Weight × Cost ) = 0.90%

After tax cost of debt = 1.84%+0.90%

=2.74%

Create, Inc., a domestic corporation, owns 100% of Vinyl, Ltd., a foreign corporation and Digital, Inc., a domestic corporation.
Bumek [7]

Answer:

c.Create, Vinyl, Digital, and Record

Explanation:

The answer is

c.Create, Vinyl, Digital, and Record

Since Create Inc. which is a domestic corporation, owns 100% shares in two enterprises. One is Vinyl Ltd. which is a foreign corporation and the other is Digital Inc. which is a domestic corporation. And Create Inc. also happens to own 12% shares in a domestic corporation named Record Inc.

Now since Create Inc. owns shares in all the three corporations, all these corporations's net income will be included in the Create's income statement current-year financial report.

Thus the answer is

c.Create, Vinyl, Digital, and Record

Joyce Murphy runs a courier service in downtown Seattle. She charges clients $0.50 per mile driven. Joyce has determined that if
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer and Explanation:

The computation is given below:

1.

Given that

Charges per mile = $0.50

Variable Cost per mile driven = $0.20

Fixed Cost = $215

So,

Contribution Margin per mile = Charges per mile - Variable Cost per mile driven

$0.50 - $0.20

= $0.30

Break-even units (in miles) = Fixed Cost ÷ Contribution Margin per mile

= $215 ÷ $0.30

= 717 miles

2.

Revenue for 4,200 miles is

= $0.50 × 4,200

= $2,100

And,

Variable Cost = $0.20 × 4,200

= $840

Now

Contribution Margin = Revenue - Variable Cost

= $2,100 - $840

= $1,260

And,

Fixed Cost = $215

So,

Net Income = Revenue - Variable Cost - Fixed Cost

= $2,100 - $840 - $215

= $1,045

So,

Degree of Operating Leverage = Contribution Margin ÷ Net Income

= $1,260 ÷ $1,045

= 1.2057

3.

Degree of Operating Leverage = % Change in Net Income ÷ % Change in Sales

1.2057 = % Change in Net Income ÷ -25%

1.2057 = % Change in Net Income ÷ -0.25

% Change in Net Income = -0.301425

= -30.1425%
