One location of The Smart Growing Preschool has 22 children in the primary class and 18 children in the toddler class. The other

location has 30 children in the primary class and 15 children in the toddler class. The revenue at the first location is $24,250, and the revenue at the second location is $27,150. How much do parents pay for a primary child and a toddler child every month?

Answer:   Parents pay $595 for primary child and $620 for toddler child every month.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represents the amount paid by the parents for a primary child and y represents the amount paid by the parents  for a toddler child every month.

According to the question, we have the following system of equations:-

22x+18y=24250..........(1)\\\\30x+15y=27150......................(2)

Divide 2 on both sides in equation (1) and 15 on both sides on equation (2), we get

11x+9y=12125..................(3)\\\\2x+y=1810\\\Rightarrow y=1810-2x.................(4)

Substitute the value of y in (3), we get

11x+9(1810-2x)=12125\\\\\Rightarrow\ 11x+16290-18x=12125\\\\\Rightarrow\ 7x=4165\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=595

Substitute value of x in (4), we get

y=1810-2(595)=620

Hence, Parents pay $595 for primary child and $620 for toddler child every month.

Josephine bought 8 packets of biscuits. Each packet had a mass of 500 g
Nataly_w [17]

Answer: 985 g

Step-by-step explanation:

Total mass = 8 × 500g = 4000g

Let the three new packs be X, Y, and Z, for first, second, and third pack respectively.

4000g = X + Y + Z

let's put X and Z in terms of Y, since we're trying to solve for the second pack.

X = 2Y, and Z = Y + 60

Therefore,

4000 = X + Y + Z

4000 = 2Y + Y +Y + 60

4000 = 4Y +60

4000 - 60 = 4Y

3940 = 4Y

3940 ÷ 4 = Y

985g = Y = mass of the second pack

For quality control purposes, a company that manufactures sim chips for cell/smart phones routinely takes samples from its pro
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

There is a 22.42% probability that a sample in this size has 2 imperfections.

Step-by-step explanation:

For each chip, there are only two possible outcomes. Either they are imperfect, or they are not.

This means that we can solve this problem using binomial distribution probability concepts.

Binomial probability distribution

The binomial probability is the probability of exactly x successes on n repeated trials, and X can only have two outcomes.

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.\pi^{x}.(1-\pi)^{n-x}

In which C_{n,x} is the number of different combinatios of x objects from a set of n elements, given by the following formula.

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

And \pi is the probability of X happening.

In this problem

A success is a chip being imperfect. Suppose the average number of imperfections per 1000 sim chips is 3. So \pi = \frac{3}{1000} = 0.003.

What is the probability that a sample this size (1000 chips) has 2 imperfections?

The sample has 1000 chips, wo n = 1000

We want P(X = 2).

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.\pi^{x}.(1-\pi)^{n-x}

P(X = 2) = C_{1000,2}.(0.003)^{2}.(0.997)^{998} = 0.2242

There is a 22.42% probability that a sample in this size has 2 imperfections.

A baker uses 13 1/2 cups of flour to make bread. She uses 2 1/4 cups of flour to make each loaf. The baker sells 2/3 of the loav
ollegr [7]

Answer:

She sells 4 loaves of bread

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets explain how to solve the problem

→ A baker uses 13\frac{1}{2} cups of flour to make bread

→ She uses 2\frac{1}{4} cups of flour to make each loaf

From these information we can find the number of loaves of bread

she can make

∵ There are 13\frac{1}{2} cups of flour

∵ Each loaf of bread needs 2\frac{1}{4} cups of flour

∴ The number of loaves = 13\frac{1}{2} ÷ 2\frac{1}{4}

To divide two mixed numbers make them improper fractions and

change the division sign to multiplication sign and reciprocal the

fraction after the division sign

∵ 13\frac{1}{2} = \frac{(13)(2)+1}{2}

∴ 13\frac{1}{2} = \frac{27}{2}

∵ 2\frac{1}{4} = \frac{(2)(4)+1}{4}

∴ 2\frac{1}{4} = \frac{9}{4}

∴ The number of loaves = \frac{27}{2} × \frac{4}{9}

∴ The number of loaves = 6

<em>She can make 6 loaves</em>

→ The baker sells \frac{2}{3} of the loaves of bread that she makes

→ We need to find the number of loves of bread she sells

∵ She sells \frac{2}{3} of the loaves

∵ There are 6 loves

∴ The number of loaves she sells = 6 × \frac{2}{3} = 4

<em>She sells 4 loaves of bread</em>
