The right matches are:

1. Nonflowering  ==> Gymnosperm

Some plants do not have real flowers, this is the case of pines and firs. Eggs are not protected in an ovary and are placed naked under a shell hence their name Gymnosperms which means naked seeds. There is no petals or sepals. The egg after fertilization will give a seed but there will be no fruit.

2. Exposed seeds  ==> Gymnosperm

The term "gymnosperm" means "bare seed", which allows us to define this plant class in a broad sense, containing a certain number of phyla that have arrived at the same evolutionary stage. Gymnosperms are the intermediates between vascular cryptograms (Pteridophytes) and Angiosperms.

3. Garden flowers and tomatoes  ==> Angiosperms

Tomato plants belong to the group of plants called flowering plants or angiosperms. The tomato plant reproduces sexually, which means that female and male organs are needed to produce seeds. Each tomato seed contains a tiny plant. When conditions are adequate, the tomato seeds germinate.

4. Seeds enclosed in fruit  ==> Angiosperms

In angiosperms, the eggs are located in a closed ovary; they are thus protected. The pollen grain develops a pollen tube to reach the embryonic sac of the egg. Fertilization is double; the first begets the seedling; the second generates a fostering embryo, the albumen. The ovary evolves into a fruit after fertilization.

5. Pine or fir trees  ==> Gymnosperms

Fir and pine are trees, and more specifically conifers, which belong to the family Pinaceae.

The fir tree is a medium-altitude tree of which there are about forty species in the temperate regions of the northern hemisphere in particular.

Pine, finally, has needles finer than those of fir. They are also grouped in bundles of two, three or five. Its cones are also falling.

6. Flowering ==> Angiosperms.

The flowering plants form on Earth most of the plants with about 350000 described species, with more than 2000 new taxa formalized each year. The flowering plants, or phanerogams, integrate trees and grasses because these plants also produce flowers, although sometimes more discreet. These are angiosperms. A flowering plant, after the flowering stage, gives fruits after pollination.

Describe how temperatures above 35 C most likely affect the structure and function of the starch synthase in the particular stra
arlik [135]

Answer:

- It is very likely that temperatures above 35°C will change the structural configuration of the enzyme, denaturing it and preventing it from performing its function.

- According to the information, the most probable consequences for this rice crop is that its starch content will be lower, compared to crops grown at optimal temperatures.

Explanation:

<u>The full question includes this statement</u>:

<em>A rice grain is a fruit that encloses a seed. Most of the dry mass of a rice grain is starch. In rice plants,  starch is produced by hydrolyzing sucrose and then linking the released glucose molecules together into  starch . The optimal temperature range for starch synthase activity in a particular strain of rice  is 27°C - 30°C. The optimal temperature range for sucrose synthase in the strain is 30°C - 35°C.</em>

One of the factors affecting enzyme activity is temperature, according to which an enzyme can make a reaction faster, slower or inhibit the activity of that enzyme.

For a grain of rice to acquire its starch content, the activity of two enzymes is required, sucrose synthase - to obtain glucose from sucrose - and starch synthase, to polymerize glucose into starch (see image).

<h3>In this case, how temperatures above 35°C most likely affect the structure and function of the starch synthase?</h3>

The temperature of 35°C is far above the optimum temperature required for the enzyme to act, so it is possible that a change in the structure of the enzyme will occur or that it will be denatured, preventing the starch synthase from performing its function. One consequence of this is a lower starch synthesis.

<h3>When the average temperature in the growing season is 33°C, what can be predicted about the consequences on the starch content in mature rice grains?</h3>

A temperature of 33°C is outside the range of starch synthase activity -even though it is optimal for sucrose synthase- which would decrease starch synthesis and, because of this, the rice grains in this crop would have less starch content.

A Chlorella cell viewed through a microscope is 0.00005 m wide when the magnification is 2000.
juin [17]

Answer:

0.0025micrometer.

Explanation:

To calculate the actual size of the image, the formula to be used is

Actual size=Image size÷magnification.

The image size is 0.00005 wide

Magnification is 2000

First, convert the image size to micrometer.

=0.00005 × 1000000

50micrometers.

Actual size= 50÷2000

Actual size = 0.0025

Biological control methods for managing insect pests are effective for reasons that include which of the following? They promote
Semenov [28]

Answer:

Option B, They generally focus on one target insect to ensure that the target insect population remains low.

Explanation:

Biological pest control methodologies are focused towards a specific species of pest and do not harm the non-targeted species. These methods are environment friendly and do not produce any harmful residues. Also they do not develop any kind of resistance in species due to which the same bio pesticide can be used again and again. Since these methods have high specificity, they may require usage of two or more bio pesticides all together.

Hence, option B is correct

The pmi for remains of a body enclosed in a plastic bag could best be estimated by
scoundrel [369]
The post mortem interval of a body enclosed in a plastic bag could be best estimated by the insects found in the body, in that case forensic science need to listen to what those little creatures have to say, insects could tell if the body has been moved from the crime scene, how long it´s been in an specific place, and how long it´s been since death until found, every group of insects can tell something different, from worms, arachnids to flyes, each one of them has a time to get into the body, so it could tell you for how long it´s been dead.
