The amount of slack associated with this activity is 2.

Further Explanation:

Slack:

Slack is the time period, the activity can be delayed with this limit with completing the project on time. The project should be completed within the timeframe of the project. If one activity is delayed due to any reason, all other activity is delayed. Thus, the whole project is delayed with the time period one activity is delayed.

The full form of es is the earliest starting time. The full form of ls is the latest starting time. The full form of ef is the earliest finish time. The full form of lf is the latest finish time.

Given information:

Es = 12

Ef = 18

Lf = 20

Ls = 14

Compute the slack associated with the activity:

The slack is computed by two methods. One method of calculating the slack is taking the difference of the earliest starting time and the latest starting time. Another method of calculating the slack is taking the difference of the earliest finish time and the latest finish time.

Slack= Latest finish time – Earliest finish time

        =  20 – 18

        = 2

Slack= Latest starting time – Earliest starting time

        =  14 – 12

        = 2

Therefore, the activity can be delayed for 2 days, if the activity is delayed for more than 2 days. The project is not completed on time.

The slack can easily be explained as the difference between latest start (ls) and earliest start (es) of an activity. As the above example, we can easily now calculate slack as the follow: slack = LS - ES or LF - EF So, the correct answer will be LS - ES = 14 -12 = 2 or LF - EF = 20-18 = 2 So, the slack associated with this activity is 2.

tester [92]

Answer: jim already had a rigid opinion about what will work in the United States .

Superiority complex on the side of Jim.

Language barrier.

He is not impressed by the German outlook and dressing

Explanation:there are several barriers that may hinder the successful implementation of the new product line which has saved thousand of euros for the Germans,one is the fact that Mr jim already has a predisposed idea that the implementation will not work one can only wonder why he invited the German in the first place,it's obvious that the invitation if the German came from a higher pedestal and could be one if the reason Mr jim believes contrarily ,he believes innovation will not work in the USA,meanwhile ,world over , workers tend to resist change and innovation but there are a lot of measures to bring them to the table which include engaging them in every stageof the implementation , assuring them that there will be no job loss due to innovation,making them to see the advantages of the proposed changes to all.

The feeling of superiority to the Germans and their technology is very obvious ,ranging from the quiet disparaging of the visitors accent and pronounciation ,condemn his outfit rather than concentrating on what he has to offer ,he has a set mind ,which find everything about the Germans repulsive.it will be difficult to adopt the new technology with Jim at the helm of affairs at the Chicago plant .

sweet [91]

Probability assigned:|

x 30 60 120 180

P(x) .10 .40 .40 .10

Answer:

Jane

Price of Groupon for a revenue of $300 is:

$3

Explanation:

a) Data and Calculations:

Expected Sales volume:

Number of Tubes  x   30     60      120     180

Probability P(x)           .10     .40      .40      .10

Expected values          3      24       48       18

Total = 93 tubes

Groupon price = $300/93 = $3.23

b) Jane's price for each Groupon will be the rent revenue per day divided by the expected number of tubes to rent daily. The expected number of tubes is derived by multiplying each expected number of tubes by its probability and then summing up the results.

The Distribution Point plans to save $2,000 a month for the next 3 years for future emergencies. The interest rate is 4.5 percen
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

A deposit of 36,922.02 dollars will be equivalent to the series of emergencies deposits of 2,000 starting today.

Explanation:

we need to know the future value of the emergencies deposit and then, calculate which lump sum can generate the same amount. As the deposit are done at the beginning It will be an annuity-due:

C \times \frac{(1+r)^{time} -1}{rate}(1+r) = FV\\

C 2,000

time      36 (3 years x 12 months per year)

rate 0.045

2000 \times \frac{(1+0.045)^{36} -1 }{0.045}(1+0.045) = FV\\

FV $180,082.6885

Now we calculate the lump sum which yield this amount as well:

\frac{Maturity}{(1 + rate)^{time} } = PV

Maturity  $180,082.6885

time   36.00

rate  0.045

\frac{180082.68854409}{(1 + 0.045)^{36} } = PV

PV   36,922.02
