Answer: the tone is irony.

Explanation:the tone in this excerpt, seen above, can be identified as ironic. this is because the passage above is using the characteristics by using irony.

Irony: the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.

Angelou uses the tone irony all throughout the excerpt, "In cotton-picking time the late afternoons revealed the harshness of Black Southern life, which in the early morning had been softened by nature’s blessing of grogginess, forgetfulness and the soft lamplight." This tone relates to her individual experience and personal perspective because in the excerpt she makes pitty on the harshness of Black Sothern Life. meaning that she doesn't like the life that black people that lived in the south lived, she didn't like it because it was harsh and unfair.

NeX [460]

Answer:

"Provisional drivers could each save up to £500 on their car insurance by undertaking advanced driving lessons," the government has confirmed.

"We want people to go on improving their driving skills throughout their driving careers," said David Ashworth, a junior minister at the Department for Transport. "This is about creating the right sort of education and incentivising people to do it."

Explanation:

You haven't provided the complete question, but I found a similar one online. I assume that your task is to correct punctuation, especially quotation marks.

Quotation marks are used in direct speech - when you want to relay someone's words in the exact way they were spoken. Quoted words will be framed by quotation marks. In this case, the reporting clause (the part that doesn't contain quoted words) will be separated from quoted words by a comma. Commas and periods are always included inside the quotation marks, as you can see in the Answer section.

lidiya [134]
The statement that best describes how the pacing of events heightens tensions is the third one - The fact pace intensifies the conflict between the narrator and Allison.
Generally, the faster the pace, the tensions are heightened because everything is happening so fast. When you are angry, you don't normally talk slowly and quietly, but speak in a quick manner so as to show your emotions.

Answer:

Comma Splice

Explanation:

Comma splice can also be known as comma fault.

COMMAN SPLICE can be defined as the use of a comma to join two clauses that are independent which is why comma splice is a common grammatical error in English because two independent clauses are incorrectly joined by a comma in order to make one sentence which is why to avoid comma splices, we need to be able to identify an independent clause.

Therefore comma splice is sometimes used in literary writing in order to help convey a particular mood of informality.

In order word COMMAN SPLICE can be seen as the way in which comma is use to join two complete sentences without placing an appropriate joining word between them.
