This is a question of permutation so if we fix the position of first and last joke as stated in the given question there are 10 jokes are left so putting each joke in in any order creates a unique order now putting 10 jokes in 10 places can be done in 10 factorial ways i.e  
10!=10*9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1 
and 10!=3628800 
so there are 3628800 number of ways of telling the joke when the old joke is told first and the new joke is told​ last
