The most significant effect of dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima (August 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9, 1945) was the almost immediate unconditional surrender of Japan to the Allies in World War II. It was announced in August 15, 1945 and formally signed on September 2nd. Japan could not handle the amount of damage the bombs could do to the population of the country. The world was not ready to handle the level of destruction such a bomb could perpetrate. Japan took the risk to gamble that America wouldn't dare to throw a second bomb after Hiroshima, and they did. They couldn't risk receiving a third one. They had to offer their surrender immediately, specially after the Soviet's intervention on the other front.

Is a totalitarian government always absolutist?<br> Yes or No
slamgirl [31]

A democracy is a society in which people have a say in their government and elect their leaders. The opposite is totalitarianism: a totalitarian society is usually ruled by a dictator, and there is very little or no freedom. In totalitarianism, the government controls almost every aspect of life.

About five thousand years ago, the rains over the Sahara began to decline and grasslands gave way to desert. The population of t
lisabon 2012 [21]
Over the course of 5000 years, the amount of rain falling over the Sahara drastically decreased. As most of the Sahara is towards the North and mostly inland, it means that less water falls there. The Sahara is huge, covering ~9,000,000 square kilometers. It is called Sahara, because that is translated into desert. The Sahara is mainly stone plateaus, sand seas, and mostly sand dunes. Wind and little rain shapes most of the desert features. Because of this, the area has little suitable places to farm, has little vegetation, and the little vegetation it has consists of shrubs and little grasslands. The place is extremely hot during the days, and has a dramatic contrast during the night. Because of all this, many people that saw that the desert is a harsh area to live in, try to move closer to plains and forests that are still inside Africa. This led to a spread of people from Northern Africa to other parts of the land.

hope this helps
