I believe we should not be given any homework today. Our class works hard and we do a lot of homework. My parents might be fed up with the lack of time they get to spend with me. Do you really want an angry letter and a bad rating? My parents want me to enjoy life and be a kid. Also, if we didn't have homework tonight, I could get together and reconnect with friends i have not seen for a long time. Isn't friendship and joy more important than homework? So, as I hope you can see, homework is not a priority compared to simple joys of life like family and friendships. I hope you will not assign any homework tonight. :)

I think that students shouldnt be given homework because school and the classes we have now is already hard enough. Like our brains are already tired enough from having to wake up and get to school extra early and do all these work in several different classes. And I know me personally I rarely have the time or energy to do any homework after school because I work most of the time and even when I don't have to work I always feel tired because on school days I work night shift so I be up working all night then when I get home I am instantly tired. sometimes we just need a break from all the homework. Plus most likely we already have been given a ton of homework from all of our other teachers. Like y'all cant seriously expect us to do all this work. And honestly I don't see the point, like why make us do work in class then punish us by giving us work to do at home as well. Like home is supposed to be when we get a little break from school until the next morning a place to relax. Like its kind of like when I get off work I go home to relax, like most people would, you don't see peoples jobs giving them work that they have to do at home. Like when I go to work I clean and take orders all that, when I get home I dont take peoples orders, so why should I have to learn and do work assignments from school at home. Because the idea is that we work while we are there, but when you clock out and go home that time is yours to just chill. So my point is that homework is not necessary school is for learning while we are here home is where we relax to get away from school.

What text evidence can readers use to infer that the last firebrand belongs to Nou, even before his name is called? Use at least
Paul [167]

Answer:

There are two sections of the story that lend credence to the fact that Nous firebrand was the last one to be thrown during the Chief's visit.

 1. The third sentence in the third paragraph indicates that they took turns and that Nous turn came last because, after Nous turn, there was no other mention of any other throw. This means that all the other older warriors that thrown their flames before Nou.
 2. The third and fourth sentences in paragraph 4 state that everyone was happy except the older fire throwers because Nou had made them look weak and foolish.

This corroborates the evidence from the third paragraph that they had thrown their fires first and Nous fire went last.

Cheers!

IrinaVladis [17]

Ian Mortimer's primary purpose in this passage is to inform readers about the amount of plays in London's theaters because, by knowing this facts, readers can have a better idea of how the society they are willing to know is in a certain period of time.

The author achieves the purpose of informing readers by providing real facts, he describes the attitudes the Elizabethans had and explains why they had them. In this book, Mortimer reveals all kind of information about where to eat, where to stay, but also about a country in which life expectancy is in the early thirties, people still starve to death and Catholics are persecuted for their faith.

Although Sorrentino says that he did not intend to create an allegory or specific symbols, many readers find symbolism in the st
larisa [96]

The story "There's a Man in the Habit of Hitting Me on the Head with an Umbrella" can be understood from various different perspectives. Even though Sorrentino claims to not have written it as a symbol for anything, the narrative can be understood as a symbol of life itself.

The man with the umbrella is completely random and inescrutable. The man receiving the blows has no idea why he is the recepient, or what motivates the other man. His only option is to take the blows. This is similar to how we face hardships in life. We just have to accept that tragedy is sometimes random. Moreover, the protagonist eventually gets used to this situation, in the same way we can get used to any problem we have in life.

What causes Macbeth to realize that he has been misled by the prophecies? Choose two options.
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

c. the revelation of how Macduff was born

d. the news that soldiers carrying boughs from Birnam Wood are approaching

Explanation:

Shakespeare's famous play, Macbeth, is a story about the Scottish general, his attempt to become a king and preserve the position. Macbeth is told by the three witches that no man born of woman will be able to harm him, as well as that he is safe until Birnam wood starts moving. Macbeth believes in what they say, ensured that his position as a king could not be compromised. However, towards the end of the play, Malcolm and his army are approaching the castle, camouflaged with the trees from the forest, and Macbeth realizes that he has been misled by the witches' prophecy. This becomes even more clear on the battlefield, when he finds out that Macduff was born by Caesarean section - he was not, in fact, "of woman born."
