When a particular geographical region is exposed to the sun for some time, the atmosphere is heated and the air mass in the region become less dense as it warms up. This is how low-pressure occur in the world. Wind from the high-pressure system  (with denser air masses) begins to blow towards the low-pressure regions to replace the rising air masses.
