In a species of wild animal, claw size is determined by a combination of two allele. Allele Q codes for large, thick claws, whil

e allele q codes for small, thin claws. Individuals with a heterozygous genotype possess claws of medium size. Members of the species depend on their claws to be able to burrow in the ground and find food. The ground in their area has always been soft, but gradual climate change has caused the dirt to become hard and compact. Which statement best predicts the change that will occur in the affected populations?

Unfortunately this question is incomplete. Given the information provided, we can expect the hardening ground to seriously disadvantage the animals with thin, small claws. We can expect natural selection to cause a shift in the proportions of the alleles in the population, whith most individuals having the two QQ alleles and a minority with the heterozygous genotype (Qq), provided the individuals with medium-sized claws can survive. Since the q allele would still exist within the population, the individuals with the qq genotype would still occasionally occur in the population.

Current studies on frogs and wildlife indicate that hormonally active agents (HAAs) are __________. a. found in insecticides and
melomori [17]

The right answer is A.

The term "hormonally active agent" (or endocrine disruptor) refers to any molecule or compound chemical agent, xenobiotic having hormono-mimetic properties and described as a cause of physiological abnormalities, and in particular reproductive abnormalities. Some examples are PCB, TCDD, DDT. Some of them were used as pesticides and are now banned for use. Their traces always exist at the soil level due to their persistence.

These agents are most often associated with breast cancer.

The flu vaccine (administered as a shot or a nasal spray) is made of a combination of the different types of influenza viruses t
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

This happens because viruses mutate and vary according to the environment they face. That is why different strains occur and appear every day, which must be updated in the vaccines, in order to have immunity up to date and keep up with the viral mutation without making us sick.

Explanation:

Viruses are acellular structures that do not have their own metabolism or replication method, it is because they must dominate and invade the human body so that its DNA or RNA is coupled to the human and this uses the human machinery to be able to replicate.

On the other hand, as infections occur and viruses appear, they can associate with bacteria forming bacteriophages, they can mutate within an organism that is infected by more than one viral infection and they can even adopt retrovirus mechanisms, which day by day. These new viruses are called as new strains, which evolve and will have to be coupled with vaccines.

Vaccines are a method of natural ACTIVE immunity, that is, part of the virus is inoculated, so that it generates the formation of a specific antibody in the body.

Which of the following examples can cause gene flow between populations?
yanalaym [24]
The answer is bird droppings that contain seeds from a different location.

Gene flow includes a transfer of alleles from one population to another. So imagine a population of plant A on location 1 and another population of plant A on location 2. They cannot interchange their genes. But if birds drop seeds from location 1 and those seeds get to location 2, gene flow may occur.
