Read the excerpt from My Story. Back in the spring of 1955 a teenage girl named Claudette Colvin and an elderly woman refused to

give up their seats in the middle section of a bus to white people. When the driver went to get the police, the elderly woman got off the bus, but Claudette refused to leave, saying she had already paid her dime and had no reason to move. When the police came, they dragged her from the bus and arrested her. The author uses a chronological text structure in this excerpt because it
gives readers a clear picture of the sequence of events.

helps readers get into the minds of the people described.

helps readers see the pros and cons of the situation.

gives readers a vivid and detailed description of the bus.

Of course, the chronological description helps to clearly understand the sequence of the dates or events. But we can not see the dates, only the events. This excerpt is from Rosa Parks book, "My Story" where she describes a woman who didn't give up her seat. The chronological description helps us to see this racial injustice in a more detailed way with chronological order. The correct option is the first one.
