We shall first plot the points.

A(-2,0), B(1,4) , C(3,4), D(7,0)

After we plot the points we join the points.

We analyze that it is a trapezium.

Now counting the units we get

BC = b = 2 units

AD = a = 9 units

The height = BE = h = 4 units

The formula to find the area of trapezium is = 1/2 ×h ×(a+b)

Substituting the values of a, b & h we get

Area = 1/2 ×4 ×(2 + 9)

Area = 1/2 × 4 × 11 = 44/2 = 22 square units.

Option B) is the right answer

A food scientist takes a random sample of 25 cereals in order to test the claim that the mean fiber content is less than 2.5 gra
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

Choice A: there is insufficient evidence to conclude that the mean for the fiber content is less than 2.5 gms.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the graphs given the more appropriate is one sample t- test

One sample t- test is used and the results are

Hypothesis Test                       Fiber

Sample Mean                          2.62

Sample St. Dev                       3.492

Degrees of Freedom              24

t- test statistic                         0.1718

p- value                                    0.5675

the critical region for this test at ∝= 0.05 is t < -1.711

There is not enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis.

Since the calculated t=   0.1718 does not fall in the critical region the null hypothesis is accepted that the mean fiber content is not  less than 2.5 grams.T

Cora is playing a game that involves flipping three coins at once. Let the random variable HHH be the number of coins that land
arlik [135]

Answer:

0.875

Step-by-step explanation:

P(H=0) = 0.125

P(H=1) = 0.375

P(H=2) = 0.375

P(H=3) = 0.125

P(H<3) = P(H=0) + P(H=1) + P(H=2)

P(H<3) = 0.125 + 0.375 + 0.375

P(H<3) = 0.875

A student wants to know how far above the ground the top of a leaning flagpole is. At high noon, when the sun is almost directl
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

15.43 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question, one should use the concept of similar triangles.

The pole's shadow and the distance to the ground (x) form a similar triangle to the distance of the plumb bob from the base and the length of the plumb bob, respectively. Note that we do not need to know the measurements of the third side of the triangles to solve the problem.  Therefore, the distance of the top of the pole to the ground is:

14 in = 1.1667 ft

1.1667x=6*3\\x = 15.43

The distance of the top of the pole to the ground is 15.43 ft.

The Graduate Record Examination and the Miller’s Analogy Test are generally used for _______________.
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

b

Step-by-step explanation:

The graduate record examination is a standard test for the selection process of graduate schools and is a requirement. It tests the abstract thinking is areas of analytical writing, mathematics and vocabulary.

The millers analogy test is used for graduate school admissions and admissions to high IQ institutions. It is a verbal or computer based assessment aiming to test the individuals logical and analytical skills by using partial analogies.

You are setting up a zip line in your yard. You map out your yard in a coordinate plane. An equation of the line representing th
Pachacha [2.7K]
Solving this problem needs the distance formula of point to a line.

The formula is:

distance = | a x + b y + c | / √  (a^2 + b^2)

So we are given the equation: y = 2 x + 4

Rewriting this would be: y – 2 x – 4 = 0 ->  a = -2, b = 1, c = -4

 We are also given the points:

(-4, 11) = (x, y)

 Plugging it in the distance formula at points (x, y):

distance = | -2 * -4 + 1 * 11 + -4 | / √ [(- 2)^2 + (1)^2]

= 15 / √ (5)

= 6.7

 So the tree is approximately 6.7 feet away from the zip line.
