Gender discrepancies in employment and pay remain a very important problem in the workplace nowadays. In general, this mainly affects women, and is particularly pervasive when it comes to high-level positions.

One of the problems of this is that women often face pressures in their personal life that do not allow them to dedicate themselves to their careers in the way that men can. An important example of this is working mothers. Mothers who work often have a lot more responsibilities at home than men who work, and this discrepancy can put them at a disadvantage.

A step to address this would be trying to make these responsibilities more compatible with work, as well as encouraging men to take part in them. For example, changing the way parental leave works so that it can be used by both partners for a longer time.

One cause of the separation might be because they are scared also the step to solve it would probably be

reassess job requirements for the senior leadership team

Companies that aren’t hiring women for senior roles should consider what barriers they’ve constructed that prevents women from filling them. That doesn’t mean diluting requirements but asking if 15 years of management experience, for example, is necessary when 10 would do. Employers should consider including other types of experience that broadens the pool of possible candidates.

Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]
Perceptual is a mental predisposition that functions as a lens through which we perceive the world and our learned concepts (schemas) prime is to organize and interpret ambiguous stimuli in certain ways.

example of perception: knowing when to try a different technique with a student to increase their learning

example of schemas: in Piaget’s theory of development, children construct a series of schemata, based on the interactions they experience, to help them understand the world

Piaget’s (1936) Theory: cognitive development explains how a child constructs a mental model of the world. He disagreed with the idea that intelligence was a fixed trait, and regarded cognitive development as a process which occurs due to biological maturation and interaction with the environment. He was also a Psychologist. (this is just something in case your teacher asks about piaget’s theory/what it was about)

Hope this helps!
