But fatty foods will slow down alcohol absorption quite significantly, as they effectively form a lining that it cannot easily pass through [alcohol is not soluble in fat.

It is recommended to eat food when taking an alcohol and usual recommendation would be protein thus other food aside from protein would have the least impact on slowing the body's absorption on alcohol and an example would be fats.
