There was a slough or a creek leading out of it on the other side that went miles away, I don't know where, but it didn't go to the river. physical description

This is a physical description as it fully depicts the place that the character is passing by. For instance, he/she identifies meters ("about a hundred yards") and miles ("that was five miles wide".) He/she also describes the place: "a shallow lake," "full of rushes," "and ducks (...) in the season," "There was a slough or a creek leading out of it." This is a setting full of physical details.

Identify the term that best describes the italicized words. We left the auditorium before the concert was over. noun clause
BaLLatris [955]
Well, this really depends on the word or words that are italicized. However, I did find somewhere on the Internet that the italicized words are before the concert was over.
If that is the case, then the correct answer is adverbial clause, given that it functions as a simple adverb, that is, it answers the question - when did something happen?
When did we leave the auditorium? - Before the concert was over.

in the context of the text, how does a person overcome adversity? How does resilience help people overcome difficult circumstanc
madam [21]

Answer and Explanation:

1. In short, the texts claim that people overcome adversity with resilience. However, resilience is difficult to understand. The texts show how the word "resilience" has become fashionable in recent years, but few people really know them, because very few people needed it.

2. Resilience allows people to face reality, realize that they cannot change it, but have positivity. Positivity is very difficult to establish in a time of adversity, but it must be encouraged, as it shows that this moment will pass and that it is necessary to be strong to pass it.

Helga [31]

"American paleontology got a bad reputation from Cope and Marsh's cutthroat behavior", states J. R. Hill in the article The Bone Wars and it is true because they were worried about fame and who was a better paleontologist and did not worried about science.

In the text this shows when it says:

"The mistakes they made in the rush for glory slowed the progress of paleontology for many years".

"In addition to sabotaje, Cope and Marsh forced their teams to dig up and transport bones quickly. Such speed damaged many specimens, but each man wanted the credit of making the first discoveries of new species".
