Solution:

we are given that

Nathan takes 42 minutes to thread a distance of 4.5 miles on a threadmill.

we have been asked to find the average distance covered in one minute.

Using the  concept of unity we can write

Since Nathan takes 42 minutes to cover a distance of 4.5 miles.

So in 1 minute Nathan will cover a distance of =\frac{4.5}{42} =1.07142miles

Hence avearge distance covered in one minute is 1.1 miles.

Answer:

0.107

Step-by-step explanation:

If nathan takes 42 mintues to thread a distance of 4.5 miles we must determine the spead that Nathan travels:

Speed is defined as the distance per time. Let v equal the average distance per minute, d is distance and t is time:

v=d/t

Therefore the average distance cover per one minute is:

v=4.5/42=0.107

Nathan covers 0.107 miles per one minute.

Let f be the function given by f(x)=3xsinx. What is the average value of f on the closed interval 1≤x≤7 ?
Hoochie [10]

Answer:

-2.92178

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the function f(x)=3x\ sin x

The average,A is calculated using the formula;

A=\frac{1}{b-a}\int\limits^a_b F(x)\, dx \\\\A=\frac{1}{7-1}\int\limits^7_1 3x \ Sin \ x\, dx \\\\\\=\frac{3}{6}\int\limits^7_1 x \ Sin \ x\, dx \\\\\#Integration\  by\  parts, u=x, v \prime=sin(x)\\=0.5[-xcos(x)-\int-cos(x)dx]\limits^7_1\\\\=0.5[-xcos(x)-(-sin(x))]\limits^7_1\\\\=0.5[-xcos(x)+sin(x)]\limits^7_1\\\\=0.5[-6.82595--0.98240]\\\\=-2.92178

Hence, the average of the function is -2.92178
