Adaptation to darkness is possible because of the presence of rods and cones in the periphery of your retina.

Adaptation to dark depend on:

• Rhodopsin regeneration,

• Size and location on the retina,

• Intensity and duration of the pre-adapting light,

• Wavelength of the threshold light.

Adaptation to darkness is possible due to the presence of rods in the periphery of the retina.

Further Explanation:

Adaptation in visual pathology, is a capability of the retina to adjust to different levels of light.

In the retina, photoreceptor cells are present which response to the different level of light.

• Cones

• Rods

Cones are present near the center of the retina. They are responsible to visualize in a high level of light. They are conical in shape and contain opsin pigment to visualize. Opsin has three different forms which are sensitive to different wavelengths and require for color vision. They have high resolution and they are more sensitive to the high intensity of light.

Rods are present in the periphery of the retina and responsible for night vision. They contain rhodopsin pigment which is sensitive to a specific wavelength. They have low resolution and achromatic vision. They are more sensitive to the low intensity of light.

Thus, in response to light photopigment rhodopsin is photobleaches. Cones and rods require the regeneration of opsin and 11-cis retinal in dark adaptation.

saw5 [17]

Answer: Autocrine signal, paracrine signal and endocrine signal.

Explanation:

Testosterone is an example of hormone which shows its effect on different locations of the cells.

The autocrine signal can be defined as the siganals which shows its effect on the cell from where it is being produced. This means a cell targets itself.

Then comes the paracrine signals in which signals acts locally on the cells nearby it. The cells close together to the cells producing chemical signals is being affected.

The endocrine signals can be defined as the effect of the hormone on the distant cells. The signals is produced by the cells somewhere else but is carried through the bloodstream to the distant cells.

All of the three effects is being shown by testosterone autocrine, endocrine and paracrine.

Which of the following sets of materials is required by both eukaryotes and prokaryotes for replication? Group of answer choices
erastova [34]

Answer:

Double-stranded DNA.

Explanation:

Replication may be defined as the process of formation of the daughter DNA from the parent DNA with the help of enzymes and proteins. The three main process of replication are inititation , elongation and termination.

The double stranded DNA molecule undergoes the process of replication. Four different dNTPs - adenine, guanine, thymine and cytosine are required for the process of replication. Primers are required for initiation of the process of replication and ori region is the inititaion point of replication.

Thus, the correct answer is option (a).

UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

Option A, shared their data with colleagues to obtain feedback on the work.

Explanation:

All researchers prefer to share their findings with their peers or other researchers working in the same field to get their reviews. This step is very essential as it makes the research authentic and removes the flaws that would have otherwise missed by the researcher.

Peer reviewers also give useful suggestion to further modify one’s research study based on their experiences.

Hence, option A is correct
