A Tughra is the real sealof the Otoman Sultans simnilar to a signature in which they along with their names, state a little description of themselves. There is a Tughra from Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent, who ruledbetween 1550 and 1560, in which similar to other Tughras, it is composed by three main lines flowing from the top to the bottom,and this generally means that the authortity to rule comes from God, it is of a divine origin.

Sultan Suleyman´s Tughra is a representation of the Diwani calligraphy was developed as he did really appreciated arts. In this style, there is a closed round line containing a floral design in it. As in Arabic tughra means enclosed garden, islamic art normally depicts plant inspired imagery,and the possible meaning is that since the Sultan has a divine power to rule, he is responsible for protecting the garden of God.
