Which statement best describes a direct result of damage to a phospholipid bilayer? The balance of ions inside a cell will be di

srupted and proteins could leak out because the phospholipid bilayer forms the cell membrane. Energy storage will be disrupted because the phospholipid bilayer is responsible for storing energy in the body. Chemical messages could not be sent to different parts of the body because the phospholipid bilayer forms hormones. A person would be vulnerable to disease because the phospholipid bilayer helps to fight infections in the body.

Answer:

Option A, The balance of ions inside a cell will be disrupted and proteins could leak out because the phospholipid bilayer forms the cell membrane.

Explanation:

The bi layers of phospholipid are held together by non-covalent bonds. These phospholipids consists of a hydrophilic head group which is attached to a hydrophobic acyl chains. Breaking of phospholipid bilayer would disrupt the fluidity of the membrane and thus there shall be no spontaneous breaking and reforming of membranes. Instead the balance between the molecules/ions surrounding the head of the bi-layer will get disturbed and the proteins that were restrained earlier due to bilayer will now be free for leakage.

Hence, option A is correct

The phospholipid bilayer is the cell membrane of the cell so the only answer choice that makes any sense is the first one - The balance of ions inside a cell will be disrupted and proteins couldleak out because the phospholipid bilayer forms the cell membrane.

Increased activity of merocrine sweat glands

Merocrine refers to the exocrine glands (or cells) whose secretions are excreted outside of the cell from the secretory cells, then into an epithelial-walled duct(s), and finally onto the surface of the body. Merocrine secretions from the sweat glands are specifically called eccrine.

Sweat glands are structures of the skin that produce sweat in order to cool the body upon evaporation of the sweat. As a person grows older, his sweat glands become less active. This could impair perspiration or sweating, and increases the risks of overheating in the elderly.

The only way to send information back and forth is to use radio waves. Just like a radio station broadcasts a signal which you can listen to using a radio, astronauts and people on Earth can broadcast information back and forth to each other.
Radio waves are transverse waves.

Which best describes a difference between transcription and DNA replication??
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

The right answer is "D".Transcription uses uracil.

Explanation:

The genes carried by the DNA will be encoded in another form: messenger RNA, during a process called "transcription".

The DNA and RNA molecules are chemically very close, but the second has an extra oxygen (in red on the right of the letters) on the sugars (riboses) that make up its nucleotides (the DNA actually contains deoxyribose). In addition, the thymine (T) of DNA is replaced by uracil (U) in RNA.

Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

After fertilization, a single cell divides successfully to form a multicellular structure. What happens next in order for this structure to develop tissues and organs to meet the needs of the organism? The cells undergo differentiation into particular body parts.

A multicellular organism develops from a single cell (the zygote) into a collection of many different cell types, organized into tissues and organs. Development involves cell division, body axis formation, tissue and organ development, and cell differentiation (gaining a final cell type identity).
