If the creator of this PSA wanted to encourage kids to read more by featuring an important fact or statistic about the benefit o

f reading, which would be the best fact or statistic to add?
Research has found a direct link between the amount of time children read for pleasure and their academic reading achievement.

Statistics show that there are as many as 775 million adults who cannot read and write worldwide, 64 percent of whom are women.

It is estimated that only one-third of eighth graders and students entering high school are considered proficient in reading.

Students who read below grade level are twice as likely to drop out of high school than those who read at or above grade level.

The right answer is "Students who read below grade level are twice as likely to drop out of high school than those who read at or above grade level. "

The explanation for this answer to be considered the correct alternative is that the question asks to show which of the alternatives presents a fact or statistic about the benefit of the reading, thus, this is the only alterative, among those that were exposed, that presents a benefit of reading. This benefit is the high probability of completing high school that students who have a habit of reading have.

Choose the words that best completes the sentence. Glen never demonstrated to me that he was __________ for having been so rude,
ZanzabumX [31]

Your question is missing the options that would allow us to answer properly. After looking it up online, I found these two similar questions. They phrase the sentence just a bit differently, but the message is the same. The options vary, but the correct option is the same for both:

Glen had __________ opportunities to show how __________ he was for being rude to me, but he never even apologized.

brazen...pragmatic

ample...contrite

ostentatious...callous

enigmatic...congenial

Despite having __________ opportunities to show how __________ he felt for being rude to me, Glen never apologized.

perfidious … stoic

deliberate … eloquent

irrevocable … morose

ample … contrite

Answer:

Glen never demonstrated to me that he was contrite for having been so rude, though he did have ample opportunities to do so.

Explanation:

It is common for a person who has been rude or has done something wrong to feel remorse, guilt, or regret after doing so. In this case, Glen was rude, he felt remorse about it, but he never apologized even though he had plenty of opportunities to do it. The best words to complete the sentence are, therefore, contrite and ample. Contrite means remorseful, full of regret, while ample means enough, plenty, abundant with something.

What is the most likely reason Churchill regularly brings up negative details about the war, such as the German victory in the B
Pie

I think the most likely reason Churchill regularly brougth up negative details about the war is:

A. He wants Britain to have realistic expectations about the future.

As a great strategist, Churchill focused on the evidence given by other battles, like the German victory in France, to learn from his enemy. By lying to his people, british army would not be prepared for the battles coming and wold be defeated. Some generals in World War II believed that war would be fougth like World War I, they were not based on any evidence, and were eventually surprised by the new tactics the German developed (like the Blitzkrieg).

Churchill was able to make alliances with the United States and the URSS, so letter B. seems incorrect.

History made clear that Churchill was a great leader that never gave up so letter C. seems incorrect too.

By giving negative details abaout war Germany wouldn't think Britain is weak so letter D is incorrect.
