Answer;

Phytosterols

Cholesterol or LDL

Sterol and stanol esters, also go by the name phytosterols and help lower blood cholesterol level or LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol).

Explanation;

 • Phytosterols also known as plant sterol and stanol esters are naturally occuring compounds found in plant cell membranes.
 • When consumed, phytosterols, compete with cholesterol for absorption in the digestive system since they are structurally similar to cholesterol. This will result in the blocking of cholesterol absorption thus reducing the amount of cholesterol in blood.

Each of the following statements concerning hair is true except
Levart [38]

Answer: A. scalp hairs grow constantly throughout life.

Explanation:

Hair is a squamous keratinized epithelium which is consist of multi-layered flat cells. Hair are made up of protein called "keratin".

The statement "scalp hairs grow constantly throughout life" is false because at a particular age or due to several factors scalp hairs stop growing.

Scalp hair growth rate depends on three main factors including sex (female hair grows faster than male), age (hair growth slows with age), and ethnicity (Asian hair grows slower than Caucasian hair).

Scalp hair growth stops because of follicle devitalization when the hair length become two or three feet.

Hence, the correct answer is A. "scalp hairs grow constantly throughout life".

Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is- Resistance

Explanation:

The ability of any organism in a population to tolerate a chemical like insecticide, pesticide or antibiotic which is designed to kill it or slow its reproduction is called resistance.

For example, the antibiotic resistance is seen in some bacteria like MRSA(Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus). They gain this resistance because they have some variant traits in their genome which provide them resistance against these chemicals.

These individual are selected through natural selection when the environmental condition changes and become adverse. So the correct answer is resistance.
