es. If Ken is startled by a loud noise immediately before his baby sister cries, he is not likely to become fearful when she cries. What do the different reactions of George and Ken suggest about the role of cognitive processes in associative learning?

This is associative learning.

The reactions of George and Ken are based on when they are startled. George will learn to associate his sister's crying with him being startled because it happens every time his sister cries.

Whereas Ken will not know when his sister will cry or when he will be startled by the crying so this has no affect on Ken.

Hence, crying will affect George but not Ken.

Answer:

Associative learning is a form of conditioning, specifically a principle stating that events or stimuli are linked to others in memory and are thus recalled together. Now this is very similar to classical conditioning, when if a neutral stimulus was presented immediately before an unconditioned stimulus (one that produces a natural response), the neutral stimulus would become conditioned and produce the same response. This is why when George hears his sister cry and then hears a loud noise that scares him, every time he hears his sister cry he will associate it with the fear of the loud noise. Switching the order doesn't condition for fear, since the neutral stimulus doesn't predict the unconditioned stimulus.

Use the model here to describe the transfer of matter and flow of energy from one trophic level to another within an ecosystem.
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

A)Biomass is transferred from one organism to another when one organism consumes another organism. When a predator organism eats the prey organism, the molecules on the food are broken down by the digestive system into smaller molecules. These smaller molecules like lipids, amino acids, glucose are used by the organism for various purposes.

B) Energy that is not transferred from one organism to another is either used up by the organism for various purposes. Most of the energy is lost into the environment in the form of heat.

c) There are typically fewer organisms at the top of the trophic levels because energy keeps on declining at each trophic levels so the number of consumers which it can satisfy also decreases.

d) Only 10% of the energy passes from one trophic level to another. The rest is usually lost in the form of heat. For example, if there was 100%  energy in the producers, only 10% would pass to the primary consumers. The secondary consumers will receive 1%.

-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

Internal region of the brain and the hypothalamus are related to the sensation of thirst.

Thalamus is involved with the perception that the soda is not colder.

Explanation:

The central nervous system is the body system responsible for making your body receive information and respond appropriately, promoting full bodily functioning. It is formed by the brain, spinal cord and the components that form them.

Regarding the activities shown in the question above, we can say that some components of the brain are related. For example: The innermost part of the brain and the hypothalamus are related to feeling thirsty. This is because the inner part of the brain is responsible for making the brain understand how the organism is functioning, if something is missing or if there is any discomfort that needs to be resolved. The hypothalamus, in turn, is responsible for the release of hormones that signal that your body's homeostasis is unbalanced. With the interaction of these two structures you realize that you are thirsty.

In addition, the thalamus is responsible for allowing your body to receive sensory messages. It is this structure that allows you to realize that your soda is not cold when you touch the glass, or take a sip of it.

timama [110]
<span>A sustainable system refers to producing less or probably non-existent debris that are caused by the production of a particular material (i.e. produce, energy). This is a sustainable form of production of coupling algae growth and fish farming because you no longer need the supply of fish feed from other sources that are made artificially but rather, you are using the available algae growth that you are culturing. Farm fishing alone is non-renewable because this produces much waste that can directly harm the environment.<span>
