“The dog curled up in bed”

- The subject is “The dog” since the statement is made about it.

- The predicate is "curled up in bed" since it completes what is said about the subject by using a verb for that purpose.

Select two details from Passage 1 that support the idea that Charlotte County, Florida is appealing to retirees. (Bumps Ahead on
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

B and D.

Explanation:

'Bumps ahead on easy Street?' is an article written by Marilyn Gardner. The article talks about Charlotte County in Florida which has become an alluring place for retirees to spend their lives.

The County is situated between two western coasts of the state, that is Sarasota and Naples. This view has made the County more attractive for retirees. The weather conditions during winter are warm in the County than northern states.

The idea that supports the claim that Charlotte County has become an attractive place for retirees in paragraph 1 of the text is that it is situated close to beaches and water, and the weather is warmer in the County than northern states.

Thus two options that are correct includes B and D.

Reread lines 43 – 58. How has the narrator’s relationship with her husband changed? Support you answer with explicit textual evi
frutty [35]
I don't know which edition you're referring to. I suppose the lines 43-58 are actually the third paragraph. So, here's the answer:

The narrator's relationship with her husband has changed because of a supernatural influence that she can't exactly explain or fathom. She doesn't really know what happened, when, or why, but at night her husband was not the same person she married. "It’s the moon’s fault, and the blood. It was in his father’s blood," she reasons. Her husband is alienated because of this, and somehow she feels that they don't belong together anymore. He goes out to find those who are like him. "Something comes over the one that’s got the curse in his blood, they say, and he gets up because he can’t sleep, and goes out into the glaring sun, and goes off all alone — drawn to find those like him."
