Answer

Find out the how many of each were sold .

To prove

Let us assume that the number of hotdogs sold be x.

Let us assume that the number of hamburgers sold be y.

As given

The band boosters collected $2400 from the sale of hamburgers and hotdogs.

The amounts earned from hamburgers and hotdogs were equal.

A hamburger sold for $3 and a hot dog sold for $2 .

Thus the equation becomes

3y = 2x

2x + 3y = 2400

put 3y = 2x in the equation 2x + 3y = 2400.

2x + 2x = 2400

4x = 2400

x = \frac{2400}{4}

x = 600

Put in the equation  2x + 3y = 2400.

2 × 600 + 3y = 2400

1200 +3y = 2400

3y = 2400 - 1200

3y = 1200

y = \frac{1200}{3}

y = 400

Therefore the numbers of f hotdogs sold be 600 and the numbers of hamburgers sold be 400 .

Benjamin is riding a unicycle. The tire of his unicycle has a circumference of 2.8 \text{ m}2.8 m2, point, 8, start text, space,
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

420 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Q. Benjamin is riding a unicycle. The tire of his unicycle has a circumference of 2.8 m, and the tire revolves 1.5 times per second. What is the distance Benjamin travels in 100 seconds?

<u>Given</u>:

Circumference of circular tire = 2.8 meters

Tire revolves per second = 1.5 times

<u>Question asked:</u>

What is the distance Benjamin travels in 100 seconds?

<u>Solution:</u>

Circumference of circular tire means distance covered by the unicycle's tire when it revolves 1 time that is 2.8 meters.

<em><u>Now, by unitary method:</u></em>

In 1 second, tire revolves = 1.5 times

In 100 seconds, tire revolves =  1.5 \times 100

                                                = 150 times

Distance covered by the tire when it revolves 1 time = 2.8 m

Distance covered by the tire when it revolves 150 times = 2.8 \times 150

                                                                                             = 420 meters

Therefore, Benjamin travels 420 meters in 100 seconds.

Sholpan [36]

3x - 2y + 2 = 0 → -2y + 2 = -3x → -2y = -3x - 2 → y = \frac{3}{2}x + 1

\frac{3}{2}x - y + 3 = 0 → -y + 3 = -\frac{3}{2}x → -y = -\frac{3}{2}x - 3 → y = \frac{3}{2}x + 3

These two equations have the same slope but different y-intercepts so they are parallel lines. (aka inconsistent).
