Part A What argument does the author make in Paragraph 8? Wind power is an underused resource that has the potential to provide

the energy to power electricity for the entire country. Wind power is an overrated energy industry that costs more money to develop and maintain than other alternative energy sources. Several government bodies must pass legislation to regulate wind power distribution channels before it can be used across the entire country. The use of alternative energy like wind will end dependence on outside sources of energy and immediately improve the environment. Part B How effective is the author’s response to the statistics in Paragraph 8 that demonstrate that wind power produced a minimal amount of the nation’s electricity in 2012? Effective; the author refutes the counterclaim by providing evidence that wind power has produced significantly more energy since 2012. Effective; the author acknowledges the counterclaim and explains the U.S. Department of Energy’s plan to increase the use of wind energy in the future. Ineffective; the author avoids addressing the counterclaim by attacking the validity of the study by the AWEA in 2012. Ineffective; the author ignores the counterclaim and instead provides exaggerated praise for the possible contributions of wind power in the future.

Read the excerpt from act 5, scene 3, of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.
kotykmax [81]

The first option is the answer: <em>Titinius feels guilty that Cassius is dead, and decides he must kill himself.</em>

How I built the conclusion:

Firstly, the act starts with a conversation between Messala and Titinius. Then, Messala EXITS, so a monologue by Titinius starts (Since he's the only one in the scene, there's no need to identify the speaker, as there was previously when Messala was also present).

Since he's alone, and speaking with a sorrow tone when he starts to 'talk' to Cassius, it can be assumed that Cassius is dead. And apparently, Brutus had previously instructed Titinius to give a garland (the <em>wreath of victory</em>) to Cassius. (The notice of Cassius death is probably the report that would <em>thrust Brutus' ears</em>, and what Messala left to tell him, in the first place). Finally, he decides he will still accomplish his mission (<em>Brutus' bidding</em>) by also dying (as giving Cassius his garland in the afterlife).

So with the <em>gods' leave</em> (in this context, permission), he meets his <em>Roman's part</em> (separation from Rome - material world). And he finally conclude the deed by 'inviting' <em>Cassius' sword </em>to find <em>Titinius' heart </em>(his own heart - thrusts a sword into his chest).

Based on these excerpts, how do the Haida and Maori cultures view the mother-child relationship?
Travka [436]

The Haida and Maori cultures view the mother-child relationship as:

Both view mothers as caring and protective over their children.

The Haida myth focuses on creating light and people. The Haida creation myth is about a trickster who stole the sun, the moon and the stars in order to bring light to his own world. Even though he created animals, fish, trees, men, and all the creatures, they lived in darkness because he stole light.

On the other hand, the Maori myth focuses mostly on the relationship between parts of nature. The Maori creation myth tells the story how humans were born and how nature helped in their birth by sacrificing themselves.

Hope it helps.

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is said to be a novel of its time, meaning that it reflects the values and issues of
Lilit [14]
This statement is correct because the novel accurately and vividly depicts the gap between Victorian moral ideals and their absolute subversion and degradation. When deformed and hideous Mr. Hyde knocks down a little girl in the passage, it is almost a metaphor for his knocking down everything that is sacred and valued within his society - and the girl herself is a symbol of innocence. A couple of months later, he beats a man to death, displaying his urge for violence. But the most disturbing fact is that he is the same person as Dr. Jekyll, a well respected and decent man of high standing in his society, who can't bear to give up on his evil alter-ego. It depicts the fact that the more the society tries to restrain our dark urges, the stronger and more irresistible they become.
