Look at the picture.

The apothem is a height of an equilateral triangle. The formula of a height of an equilateral triangle is:

h=\dfrac{r\sqrt3}{2}

We have h=6\sqrt3.

Substitute:

\dfrac{r\sqrt3}{2}=6\sqrt3     <em>multiply both sides by 2</em>

r\sqrt3=12\sqrt3    <em>divide both sides by √3</em>

\boxed{r=12}

<h3>The exact length of the radius</h3><h3>of regular hexagon ABCDEF: 12 inches.</h3><h3>The exact length of the perimeter</h3><h3>of regular hexagon ABCDEF: 6·12 in = 72 in.</h3><h3 />

You can use the Pythagorean theorem:

r^2=\left(\dfrac{r}{2}\right)^2+(6\sqrt3)^2\\\\r^2=\dfrac{r^2}{4}+6^2(\sqrt3)^2\\\\\dfrac{4r^2}{4}=\dfrac{r^2}{4}+(36)(3)\qquad\text{subtract}\ \dfrac{r^2}{4}\ \text{from both sides}\\\\\dfrac{3r^2}{4}=108\qquad\text{multiply both sides by 4}\\\\3r^2=432\qquad\text{divide both sides by 3}\\\\r^2=144\to r=\sqrt{144}\\\\\boxed{r=12}

Naya [18.7K]
All you would do is times 12 by .15 or 15% you get 1.8 then all you do is 12 minus 1.8 you get $10.20 that is the price of a discounted pizza

I hope this helps

The price that a company charged for a basketball hoop is given by the equation 50 - 5x^2 where x is the number of hoops that ar
DiKsa [7]

Answer: The correct option is first, the number of basketball hoops did the company previously produce to make the same profit is 1.3 million hoops.

Explanation:

Let the number of basketball hoops did the company previously produce to make the same profit be x.

Total Revenue = Price * Quantity

The total revenue in million dollars is,

\text{Total Revenue}=(50-5x^2)x

\text{Total Revenue}=50x-5x^3

The total cost in million dollars is,

Total Cost = One unit cost * Quantity

\text{Total Cost}=30x

Profit = Total Revenue - Total Cost

\text{Profit}=50x-5x^3-30x

The profit is 15 million.

15=20x-5x^3

5x^3-20x+15=0\\x^2-4x+3=0\\(x-1)(x^2+x-3)=0

The value of x is 1 and \frac{-1\pm \sqrt{13}}{2}.

The production is always positive therefore the value of x either 1 or 1.3. Since 1 million is not available in the options therefore the the correct optin is 1.3 million hoops.

Micah rows his boat on a river 4.48 miles downstream, with the current, in 0.32 hours. He rows back upstream the same distance,
Molodets [167]
Let the speed of the current be y and the speed of Micah's sailing speed be x. Then 4.48/(x + y) = 0.32
4.48/(x - y) = 0.56

0.32x + 0.32y = 4.48 . . . (1)
0.56x - 0.56y = 4.48 . . . (2)
(1) x 7 => 2.24x + 2.24y = 31.36 . . . (3)
(2) x 4 => 2.24x - 2.24y = 17.92 . . . (4)
(3) - (4) => 4.48y = 13.44
y = 3
From (1), 0.32x + 0.32(3) = 4.48
0.32x = 4.48 - 0.96 = 3.52
x = 3.52/0.32 = 11

Therefore, the speed of the current is 3 miles per hour.
