The historical event that this passage most represents is The Rise of Lenin given the fact that the uproar made by the animals marks the beginning of a new era for the animals, which in history it makes allusion to the beginning of the Communist Party established under the principles of Communism that Lenin himself had founded as one of its fathers, and the principles of both Communism and Animalism are alike. Adittional information is that the song the animal sang was <em>"Beasts of England,"</em> whose author was Old Major, the character whom Orwell represents as Lenin and Marx in this book, and it was Old Major who began Animalism to overthrow the dictatorship of man.

lorasvet [3.4K]

The section of the "volcanoes" page of the Ready.gov website that cautions people to be aware of mudflows is During .The correct answer is D.

On the third point of do's they say and I quote "Avoid areas downwind, and river valleys downstream, of the volcano. Rubble and ash will be carried by wind and gravity.", this can be represented by mudflows.

There are no other parts in the page that talk about that so the other options cannot be correct since they are talking about incorrect segments of information.

Answer:

A. conforming to social conventions

B. criticism of a middle class lifestyle

E. the necessity of companionship

Explanation:

The first alternative is supported by the first part of the passage in which Tolstoy describes all the reasons why Fedorovna seems to be a good match for Ilyich in the eyes of the society and Ivan Ilyitch himself.

The second alternative is an overall conclusion that can be derived from the fact that the passage describes marriage more like a business deal than a derivation of love.

The third alternative is revealed to us by the fact that Ivan Ilyitch knew himself that Fedorovna is not her best match, but decided to still marry her, because he needed to have a partner.
